Spice nose, bit of malt. Some kind of "bottle twang". A bit of hops, just enough. Kind of dry. Ok. Tessic (480), Brantford, Ontario, Canada
| 2.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 2/5 | 6/10 | 2/5 | 12/20 | Nov 27, 2007 This ale poured an copper colour with a almost non-existant head, even after a hefty pour. To the nose there was scents of nutmeg and allspice, but I couldn’t find any cinnamon. First taste was very strong with spices, and this is where I found the cinnamon and other spices added. Finish was hoppy and the palate was bitter with lasting flavours of allspice???? dogfishho (172), Bloomfield, New Jersey, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Nov 25, 2007 Pours a reddish golden color with very large bubbles up and down the glass. The thin white head is gone almost immediately. The aroma is very full and complex. All of the pumpkin pie spices are there in force. The flavor is farily rich as well with the ubiquitous pumpkin ales allspice, cinnamon, and nutmeg, along with a biscuity malt flavor and relatively powerful hops. The mouthfeel is weird in that the large bubbles feel sharp on the palate, but overall this is a solid pumpkin beer, which means a lot from me. polomagnifico (535), Saginaw, Michigan, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Nov 24, 2007 12oz bottle. Aroma is malty and spicy. Hazy medium amber body with an average off-white foamy head that mostly diminished. No lacing. Flavor is close to an amber ale but with some autum spice, nutmeg, allspice, cinnamon. Palate is light-medium bodied, watery, and soft carbonation. One of my favorite autum ales. Smooth and quite drinkable. kwoeltje (1333), Manchester, Missouri, USA
| 2.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 10/20 | Nov 22, 2007 (bottle) Medium orange gold, slightly hazy, small head. Faint spice aroma. Flavor was spice (more allspice and nutmeg). Flavor was spice on a malt base. Soonah (980), Tulsa, Oklahoma, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Nov 19, 2007 From dra19 via trade, thank you again! The pour was a slighly cloudy copper color with an almost two-finger tall off-white head. The aroma was mild, with some malt noted underneath the dry spicyness of cinnamon and nutmeg. The flavor was nicely spiced with the nutmeg and cinnamon coming through quite well. Many of these beers seem to be watery with a splash of spice/flavor thrown in as an afterthought. This one has an aggressive flavor and I kinda dug it. The mouthfeel is thin to medium in body and the finish is quite dry. Silphium (2160), Haslett, Michigan, USA
| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Nov 18, 2007 Hazy amber body, thin-medium off-white head. Light, spicy aroma featuring nutmeg and cinnamon, and I suppose allspice too, if I could pick that one out. The spices present somewhat harshly in the body, which does thankfully exhibit a bready malt backbone, especially evident as the beer warms up a bit. It’s OK but there are so many of these beers on the market now, it is hard to separate from the pack. chicagodri (1076), Chicago, Illinois, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Nov 10, 2007 In all fairness, I am not a fan of pumpkin ales...I thought this was an average spiced ale. It is very drinkable, but if I had any complaints I would say that is has to much cinnamon and nutmeg. I can see how a lot of others might like this beer though. I love the label on the bottle also.
