Commercial Description:
Jaw-Jacker balances our finest malted barley with a bit-o-wheat and is complimented with a citrus hop kick and just the right amount of cinnamon, nutmeg and allspice for a nice marriage of pumpkin pie and beer. Made in the fall to celebrate the changing of the season.

Translucent dark amber color. Thick, creamy, sandy colored head. Heavily carbonated. Had to pause after pouring half of this and wait a couple of minutes for the massive head to diminish before pouring the rest of the bottle. Excellent retention and great lacing. The allspice and nutmeg dominate the nose. Very nice level of sweet underlying malt smell. Light yeasty notes. The taste is totally sweet-malt based with spicy pumpkin flavors. Once again the allspice and nutmeg dominate, but the cinammon makes a light showing on the back end. Nice caramely edge to this one. Medium bodied, creamy and smooth make this feel very nice. An easy to drink (and enjoy) festive ale here. A good representation of the style.

Arcadia Jaw-Jacker, a pumpkin spiced ale but no pumpkin - Pours an orangey-amber with off white head that dissipates to a rim of lacing fairly quickly. Overwhelming cinnamon aroma, which features strongly in the flavour profile but nutmeg and malt bread are quite discernible too. Finishes with some nice citrus hops. Mouthfeel is good, but this beer while having the basics, just doesn’t have unity.

12oz bottle. Pours a clear glowing dark reddish orange with a medium foamy fluffy cream colored head. Aroma of pumpkin pie spices, nutmeg, cinnamon and pumpkin, fairly malty, some burnt hair? Flavor is a bit plasticy, hair-spray, bitter pumpkin, chalky, bitter, spices without anything to back it up. Medium bodied, corse tightly packed carbonation bubbles, thin feeling.

Iced tea colored pour with a small off-white head. The aroma is heavy on the pumpkin, but with more of a fresh pumpkin quality than baked. Heavy pie spice notes are balanced with some baked apple, toasted almond, and banana bread. The flavor is dry, doughy malts with some baked apple and pumpkin, strong allspice and cinnamon with hints of licorice and some lingering piny hop bitterness. There is a dry, cheweyness to the body with plentiful carbonation.

I was very unimpressed with this beer. It came it a variety pack and thought it might be a nice surprise. I was wrong. The beer really missed the mark.
