Commercial Description:
Arcadia ESB is an English Extra Special Bitter. Is deep copper in color with ruby undertones. The full-bodied, caramelly, toasted malt character finishes slightly sweet and is balanced by a solid hop bitterness. Tettnang finishing hops provide a complimentary candied hop aroma and flavor.

In short: A typical but very much above average ESB. Crisp and highly drinkable. Good stuff.
How: Tap at brewpub
The look: Clear golden copper body with a small beige head
In long: Rather full body for the style. Crisp caramel. Light citrus flavour. Leafy English-style hops. Perfect balance. Overall fresh crispness sensation with a little tartness in the finish. Extremely drinkable session ale. Appropriate medium carbonation although this thing is meant for a cask. I’m a bit surprised at the overall low ratings on this beer. Maybe the bottle doesn’t measure up to the tap or maybe Americans just cannot appreciate a good ESB. This was my opinion on Arcadia Lake Superior superior ESB (not a typo).

Cask at Barcade: Deep orange pour with a very dense tan head that laces very well. Nice aroma. Fruity with hints of mandarin orange, apricot and a biscuit touch. Creamy body. The flavor has a very soft malt back making it very drinkable. Smooth British hops upfront give it a subtle apricot fruit note and has more spicy hop character in the finish. Balanced and easily sessioned.

Aroma of honey and flowers. Large off-white head. Good decent bitters. Watery soft. Pretty average ESB.

Drank at the Brewery, 2007. An excellent and well balanced ESB. Tastes of sweet malts in the mouth that lead to a slightly hoppy finish.

I enjoyed this one. Hazy brown colored with a thick head and tons of lace. Aroma is spiced and slightly malty. Very smooth beer, although possibly lacking a little flavor. Sweet and spiced, and only a little bitter. A solid ESB!"

Sampled on draft at Rivertown Pub this beer poured a chestnut color with a small tan head. The aroma was bitter fruity hops. The flavor was bitter with floral and fruity hops and light tangy malts The finish is long and bitter. The mouthfeel is a bit thin and watery.

tap at the brewpub - Pours amber with a medium sized head. It has a light hoppy aroma. The flavor strikes a nice balance with moderately strong hops and caramel malts. Lively carbonation bubbles on the palate of this solid session brew.
