Commercial Description:
Arcadia ESB is an English Extra Special Bitter. Is deep copper in color with ruby undertones. The full-bodied, caramelly, toasted malt character finishes slightly sweet and is balanced by a solid hop bitterness. Tettnang finishing hops provide a complimentary candied hop aroma and flavor.

Lake superior Extra Special Bitter was good. I prefer dark beers and this did not disappoint me. It wasn’t so bitter that it tasted bad, it was good, and I will buy it again.

Lightly hazed dark amber color with a taller beige head. Very light aromas of pale malt and floral hops, some hints of licorice. Mild caramel and more flowers in the flavor along with a touch of herbage as well. Almost to strong in the herbal department.as they stick to the back of the throat. Glad I’m no allergic to ragweed.

Bottle: Aroma is very flowery with some citrus. Pours a hazy orangish-brown with a white head with good retention. Nice lacing. Decent caramel presence with a flowery and citrus finish. A nice ESB.

Great bubblegum aroma off a semi-cloudy fluid. Deep amber color. Flavor is light hops, slight sourness, malt dominance and a clean yet bitter finish. Overall, pretty good and very drinkable.

fruity hop aroma, golden orange and aggressively carbonated, initially watery, biscuity malt with growing metallic/veggie hoppiness

Hazy copper-orange with a smal off white foamy head that doesn’t last long, not much lacing either. Bready, buttery aromas, has butterscotch and bread flavors, it is medium bodied with a smooth and slick mouthfeel, finishes a bit sour, not all that great, where is the bitterness?

A clear amber brown, served with a nice white head that left lace all along the glass. Aroma is of malt and yeast with a mild floral hop in the background. Flavor is toffee malt with significant bitterness and toasted yeast. There is some body here and definate carbonation. This is a good example of the style

Clear copper coloured body with a very thin off-white head. Aroma of pale malt, old hops (this bottle is over a year old), caramel and some cardboard. Light-bodied; Strong astringent hops with some floral qualities and little else. A decent maltiness roams long with some hops that finish strong and bitter. Aftertaste is pungent hops and very little else. Overall, a decent beer, not a great bitter, but good enough to get an average score. I sampled this twelve ounce bottle purchased by my mom from Merchant’s in Dearborn, Michigan on 12-November-2004.
