Commercial Description:
Our Smoked Porter is a robust London style porter with a deep chocolate/ruby color and the subtle accent of hardwood smoked malt. This distinctive beer is brewed using no less than seven different varieties of premium European malted barley, resulting in a complex and full bodied beer characterized by hints of chocolate, coffee, caramel and beechwood smoke. The big malty finish to this beer is balanced by a solid hop bitterness and the refined English aroma and flavor of premium Goldings finishing hops.

Brown black pour with little head but good lacing. Smells like pepsi - not very enjoyable at all. Flavor is sweet and slightly roasted. Overly carbonated and malty sweet.

I found this porter to be thin in body and somewhat sharp and metallic in taste. For from the sweet, rich taste I expect from a porter.

Totally average porter with no toasty, buttery maple/caramel flavor. Lingering bitterness.

Pours almost black with some transluscency to it and some ruby edges. Smell is roasy and an almost cinnamony spiced scent too. Some cardboard like aroma too. Taste is dark, rich and roast coffee-like without the spiced characteristic so much. Somewhat rich body for the style and pretty drinkable. Nice porter.

Black with a red hue and solid tan head. Milk chocolate aroma with some coffee and smoke. Sweet toffee flavor dominates the roasted malts to make for a very rich ale. Low bitterness but noticeable hop flavor. Nice stuff.

Had it at X Restaurant (and Bully Boy Bar) in Congers, NY last night, and the earthiness of the wild mushroom bisque was a perfect complement to this wonderful dark beer.

12oz via trade a ways back. After opening a crap tastic porter for a night killing beer, I thought I’d open this. Pours black with a 2 finger brownish tan head. Nose is slightly smoky with a malty back bone. Taste is malty, rich, smoky and bold. This is a great smoked porter, balanced nicely in character between smoke and porter. Great beer.

Thank you Linus_stick/Alan for this one! It’s black/brown with a light brown, creamy head. The aroma has notes of roasted malt, caramel and dark fruits. The flavour is nice and chewy with notes of roasted malt, dark fruits, slightly bitter coffee, light chocolate and the finish is dry and bitter. It’s like it starts out very full and chewy, but at the end of each sip, it becomes thinner. That is a little minus for my overall impression of this otherwise very nice porter.
