Some toasty malts.I taste tobacco and a bit of coffee. Thin mouthfeel and surprisingly crisp with very good carbonation. Don’t really like it. Too much earthy type tobacco flavors for me. toddkrem (81), Las Vegas, Nevada, USA

| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Dec 31, 2007 12oz Bottle: Very dark brown w/ a small light brown head that dissolves quickly. Very nice light roasted malt aroma w/ hints of coffee & chocolate. Rich malty flavor w/ some light smokiness. A littl too much carbonation for me. Smooth, save the over carbonation. Great, but the cO2 is killin’ me... franksnbeans (265), Columbus, Maryland, USA

Smells medicinal with a very subtle roast. Taste is of sour coffee, and a little roasty. Medium in the mouth with a little carbonation sting. Had to take my time on this one and wasnt reaching for another when it was done.

| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 2/5 | 14/20 | Dec 20, 2007 thick and malty. rich in flavor but still isn’t great. It’s just good. which is more than I could say for some of the other brews I’ve had from Arcadia. This is a decent brew but I wouldn’t go looking for it. Glouglouburp (2881), Montreal, Quebec, Canada
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Dec 20, 2007 In short: A classy woody porter. Very nice.
How: Tap at Holy Smoke BBQ in Mahopac NY
The look: almost black body with a medium tan head
In long: Good mix of roastiness, blackberries-ish fruity flavour, floury cacao and pleasant woody notes. Woody flavours are present enough that I could have believed that it was a barrel-aged porter. I can only imagine how woody the barrel-aged one tastes like. As the beer warms-up the fruity flavour goes from blackberry to assorted wild-berries. Very nice porter that to me stands out because of its pleasant woody flavour. Remarkable how many brewers apply the “London” name to add some prestige to a porter and somehow chefs don’t do that for their dishes. I wonder why.

| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Dec 17, 2007 12 oz bottle - pours a dark, dark brown, with very subtle reddish highlights to the whole thing, as if it was in fact a dark, dark red. The big tan head lasts for the entire glass and leaves minimal lace. Lots of yeasts that settle fairly quickly. Big aroma of mainly sweet, dry chocolate, and some coffee and a hint of woodsmoke. The characters in the aroma are present in the flavour, but a bit more subdued. The chocolate drops out and the espresso and slight smokiness take hold. A sweet, almost treacly note is present as well. Alcohol present but not overpowering. Medium bitter finish, with the roasted malts and the hops mingling nicely. Overall, the body is a little thin and slightly watery. If there was a thicker malt base and some more hopping, this could be fantastic, but as it stands, it is merely "pretty good". hellbilly (1566), scottsdale über alles, Arizona, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Dec 17, 2007 pours nearly black with a fluffy cocoa colored head that is still around at the last sip. aroma is dark roasted malts bordering metallic, cocoa powder, char/smoke, scalded cream and a light sourness. mildly sweet flavor is woody, ashy, nutty, caramel, dark roasted malts and grassy hops. light acidity on the finish followed by the alcohol beast. grassy woody aftertaste lingers with some coffee and light smokiness. light bodied (read thin) but quite creamy. This beer sucks cold!!! but unfortunately, even as it warms it tends to be kinda one dimensional with abrasive smoke, acid and ash.
