Commercial Description:
Our Smoked Porter is a robust London style porter with a deep chocolate/ruby color and the subtle accent of hardwood smoked malt. This distinctive beer is brewed using no less than seven different varieties of premium European malted barley, resulting in a complex and full bodied beer characterized by hints of chocolate, coffee, caramel and beechwood smoke. The big malty finish to this beer is balanced by a solid hop bitterness and the refined English aroma and flavor of premium Goldings finishing hops.

Bottle 355 ml
Appearance :Black ale with good tanned fine top that left decent lace on my tasting glass.
Nose : Aromatic , traditional porter nose , gentle hint of sourness ,sweet brown cake , slightly lactic , cream coasted roast. Continental hop shows late.
Flavour/Palate : Soft and full bodied . Potent bitter leaf softened with creamy middle. Alcohol found at edges. Finishes with woody oak like bitterness.

Very nearly opaque dark brown with a light tan head. Aroma of roasted coffee, raisins, smoked malt, and tobacco. Moderately sweet, smokey flavor of dark chocolate, prunes, and coffee. Some spicy hops in the dry finish. Creamy body. Very good.

(12oz bottle) Sampled at the Post-Great Canadian Beer Festival 2007 in Victoria on September 8th, 2007. Courtesy of Tipsy_McStager. Thin lasting beige head with a near opaque brown body. Nose of coffee, caramel and tin. Flavour of sweet coffee. Nothing special.

12 ounce bottle. Pint glass. Black with a dark tan head. Aroma - sweet and fruity. Flavor was mainly sour apple and dark fruit with some roast malt. I was expecting something a little more sweet, but this one was definitely on the sour side. Unusual. Not quite to my taste.

(bottle) Pours dark brown with a small off-white head and some brown sediment. Aroma begins with chocolate, but as the beer warms changes to a more fruity (cherry) smell that was somewhat medicinal. Taste is chocolate with a lingering roast finish. Not bad, but I remember it being better.

[Bottle] Pours brown with a small beige head. Somewhat weak aroma of roasted malt and fruit. Taste is sweet up front, then roasted malt--very nice. Long finish. Too thin. I remember this as being better, I’ll definitely have to try it again some time and see if the next one is better.

Dark brown, hazy. The aroma is coffeeish and fudgey with demerara notes, molasses and a wood hop background. Rich hoppy-roasty flavours with burnt toast accents. Finishes with an intense molasses sweetness. I’m glad I had the chance to revisit this brew.

Pours black with a mocha head. Roasted malt aroma with some bitterness. Taste comes through with bitter chocolate, roasted malt, and some light fruit.
