Commercial Description:
Our Smoked Porter is a robust London style porter with a deep chocolate/ruby color and the subtle accent of hardwood smoked malt. This distinctive beer is brewed using no less than seven different varieties of premium European malted barley, resulting in a complex and full bodied beer characterized by hints of chocolate, coffee, caramel and beechwood smoke. The big malty finish to this beer is balanced by a solid hop bitterness and the refined English aroma and flavor of premium Goldings finishing hops.

Light fluffy clouds of head top this dark beer mountain. Trudging through a thick forests of coffee, cocoa & malt an unexpected (&unplanned?)magic jumps from behind the trees, offering a sour treat. Despite the smoke (&\mirrorsrorrim/&), the alcohol sticks out like a giraffe hiding behind some shrubbery... -... A bit bitter on the decent.

Ton of roasted malt flavor without the stout sweetness or thickness. Finishes with nice hop bitterness. Some sour taste which seems right because early porters had soiled brew from past days mixed in with today’s ale to lower cost, Almost black color. Best porter I’ve tried.

Nice strong aroma of malt, chocolate, caramel and coffee.Poured a dark brown/ black with a thick creamy tan head that very slowly receded into a nice creamy cap. Left lots of lacing. Tastes of roated malt, milk chocolate, coffee and burnt malt. The malt was robust, the chocolate sweet, the coffee bitter and the burnt malt was softly smoky. Body was medium, texture was sticky, carbonation was very soft, a dry very slightly bitter finish. This is a very good Porter!!! I will definitely buy again. The coffee bitterness was bit too much, but the other flavors were excellent and it has a excellent finish. I will definitely buy again! Another fantastic brew by Arcadia! Served in a Pint.

[407-20070707] Bottle (c/o DuctTape). Chocolate aroma. Dark brown black body with a long-lasting creamy off-white head. Flavour continues chocolate malt with some coffee. Pretty smooth full body. Very nice chocolatey brew.

Draught: Aroma was malty, with hints of chocolate, smoke, and roasting followed by a bit of piney hops. Poured black in color with a big, foamy, creamy, tan head that lasted throughout. Excellent lacing. Opaque. Medium sweet flavor. Tastes of alcohol, malts, smoke, chocolate, molasses, and roasting. Medium body. Oily, creamy texture. Soft carbonation. Sweet, malty finish. Overall, a solid porter that might benefit from a bigger body.

uninspriring and overrated. Barely any noticable flavor. Some roasted malt, but not much in the way of coffee or chocalate as advertised. Bitterness was there, but with such a watery malt backbone, this was like tasting "Porter Light". Eddy Fitz from Great Lakes is a far better example of the style.
