(12oz bottle) Brown-black body topped by small tan head that diminishes to thin layer. Aroma is medium sweet, roast, some milk chocolate, light cherry, smoke/burnt. Taste is medium sweet, milk chocolate, roast, light coffee, burnt, earthy. Creamy medium body.

Bottle. Pours somewhere between maple syrup color and black, with a thin tan head. The aroma is roasty with notes of charcoal and molasses. The flavor is also roasty, especially at first, with some noble hops. But a gentle smokey flavor kicks in fairly quickly and brings with it some faintly sweet notes, resulting in a finish that resembles smoked chocolate. This is very well balanced stuff.

Rich, milk chocolate aroma. Smells a bit like a cup of Bosco with milk. Very dark black body with a small tan head that mostly diminishes. Plenty of visible carbonation, when held to the light. Virtually no lace; doesn’t stick to the glass. Appearance is where this brew loses points. Good thing it’s only a 5 point category so it doesn’t hurt that badly. Initial mouthfeel is stronger than the aroma would suggest. This is a very good brew. Rich, chocolatety, moderate to strong sweetness that perfectly balances the considerable hop profile. A nearly perfect porter as the high style percentile suggests. You need to get your hands on this brew.

aroma of milk chocolate, carmel, coffee, toffee, whipped cream and marshmallow. Flavor is Strong Carmel, milk chocolate, dark chocolate, and some of that creamy whipped cream or marshmallow. interesting. some peanut flavor as well. a touch of acidity and some of that weird sour cherry vibe i dislike... gives this a mediocre review, but must admit for an english porter, better than i expected.

Bottle. Pours dark brown with thin tan head that quickly disappears. Aroma is chocolate, caramel and coffee. Flavor is heavy in chocolate and coffee, a bit of hops too. Pretty smooth.

bottle. Very dark reddish pour with a tan head. The aroma is of faint soy sauce, coffee, chocolate, and a bit of smoked meat. Chocolate is full and rich in the body which is accompanied by a bit of woody bitterness. Some molasses is evident and the alcohol becomes pretty noticeable as it warms. The finish hints at cola, but mosly is comprised of the hoppier notes and lingering chocolate aspects. Decent porter all around, but not one of my all time favorites.

Bottled. Pours very dark brown with a nice tan head. Aroma is smoky, malty, and nutty. Flavor is smoke, chocolate, coffee, with a nice bit of hops in the finish. Mouthfeel is full without being too thick. An excellent porter.

12 oz bottle: Bottle conditioned. Poured black with a medium sized brown head. Moderate aroma of green olives, roasted malt, and wood. Slight smoke. Flavor is big: coffee, chocolate, smoke. Kind of overcarbonated for me. A little bubblegum and licorice in the mix as well. A full flavored porter. Very tasty.
