Commercial Description:
Our Smoked Porter is a robust London style porter with a deep chocolate/ruby color and the subtle accent of hardwood smoked malt. This distinctive beer is brewed using no less than seven different varieties of premium European malted barley, resulting in a complex and full bodied beer characterized by hints of chocolate, coffee, caramel and beechwood smoke. The big malty finish to this beer is balanced by a solid hop bitterness and the refined English aroma and flavor of premium Goldings finishing hops.

Black. Disappearing light tan head. Nose is roasty, burnt chocoffee, light smoke, and a bit of airy sweetness. Flavor adds licorice, raisins, and crisp hops to the mix. Full, smooth palate. Great porter.

Deep in color and in flavor. Roasted cofee and caramelized malt dominate. Extremely well-balanced with a great hop finish. I was extremely impressed with this.

Appearance The beer poured a cloudy orange with hints of amber, like a jar of marmalade. I poured it carefully, but you can get plenty of lingering head if you ask for it. Aroma The smell is sweet and malty, like a mixture of fresh mown hay and light corn syrup. The aromas are very earthy, but still sweet. FlavorThere are a number of different flavors that come though. Grains, honey, citrus, white wine, and a light sourness. It’s quite fun to try and pick them all apart. Palate The mouthfeel is exceptional. Very smooth, thin even carbonation, and a slightly dry finish. Absolutely perfect. Overall This beer is simple at first glance, with increasing complexity that results in a wonderful elegance. Grab a few friends and enjoy this one.

Very much as advertised. Smoked malt flavor with a balanced hops finish. The aroma from this bottle was at first slightly sour, but otherwise pleasantly complex with hints of fruit, coffee and chocolate. Very nice porter.

From bottle. Bottle Conditioned

Dark cola like port. Thin, fast dissipating cola colored head. Aroma of chocolate, flowers, candy, and malts. Flavor of roasted coffee, chocolate and malts. Caramel aftertaste. Smokey flavors present as it warmed. Carbonation was good as I felt it on my tounge. Thin bodied, but chewy mouthfeel with a dry finish.

Poured a jet black with almost no head to speak of, just a tad bit of wispy white bubbles. Aroma is full of roasty goodness, sweet rumfilled candies, and a slightly berryish finish. Flavor is bitter coffee, dark chocolate, and rummy alcohol finish. Overall, a good warmer upper for a cool spring night.

(bottle - 12 oz) Dark black pour with a very thin and fizzy tan head. Aroma is very sweet, fruity, and almost wine-like. Very interesting. The flavor begins very sweet and malty with hints of dark fruits and toasted malts. The finish is sweet and malty with a slight alcohol warmth at the end. Thanks again Dan.
