Deep black pour with crimson edges. Slight caramel head. Huge smokey and roasty malt aroma. Some chocolate in the flavor, with lotsof roastiness, some smoke and big wallop of hop bitterness. Delectable! Thanksto TAR. IMtheOptimator (1161), Bethel, Connecticut, USA

Poured black with a creamy light tan head that lingered a long time. Sweet aroma of roasted chocolate with a touch of dark fruit. Taste is sweet and roasty, liked smoked chocolate, with a rather sharp hop kick towards the end of the mouthfeel. Sweet and smoky finish, a tad on the metallic side. If this finished smoother, it would be well on its way to being a world-class porter. badgerben (3600), Blaine, Minnesota, USA

There is a lot of bitterness in the taste which I was a little unprepared for, but it’s not a floral hoppy variety. It’s well balanced out with a truck load of malt and roast. Some smoke lingering around. I missed the chocolate and coffee, but this is still a damn fine porter. beeryum (652), Norcross, Georgia, USA

Roasty malty flavors, and some hops and chocolate, finishes sweet and creamy, with some raisins. Nice medium body (as far as porters go), but the sweetness lingers a little too much. Pours black with a ring for head and decent lacing. Flavor is sweet dark chocolate, carmel, roasted coffee, and cream. Palate is slick, smooth, and creamy. A nice clean, tasty porter I will buy a lot more of. NYHarvey (2154), New York, New York, USA

Deep black with a thumb thick mocha head. Fore is hoppy bitter then roasted barley malt follows. Very much in the Fuller’s vein as opposed to the more roasty and coffee/chocolate flavored American porters. Very nice brew.
