Commercial Description:
Our Smoked Porter is a robust London style porter with a deep chocolate/ruby color and the subtle accent of hardwood smoked malt. This distinctive beer is brewed using no less than seven different varieties of premium European malted barley, resulting in a complex and full bodied beer characterized by hints of chocolate, coffee, caramel and beechwood smoke. The big malty finish to this beer is balanced by a solid hop bitterness and the refined English aroma and flavor of premium Goldings finishing hops.

12 oz bottle courtesy of SuIIy. Dark Dark brown pour with a tan head that faded to a ring about halfway through. Great aromas of mocha cappachino. Smoked roastiness in addition made flavor. Some hops on the finish, but not a lot. Mostly malt malt malt. Very tasty stuff.

A gem of a brew! Poured real flat and I thought, uh oh. Alas, I was to be rewarded. Deep black pour with crimson edges. Slight caramel head. Huge smokey and roasty malt aroma. Some chocolate in the flavor, with lotsof roastiness, some smoke and big wallop of hop bitterness. Delectable! Thanksto TAR.

Thanks to OhioDad for this beer.

Poured black with a creamy light tan head that lingered a long time. Sweet aroma of roasted chocolate with a touch of dark fruit. Taste is sweet and roasty, liked smoked chocolate, with a rather sharp hop kick towards the end of the mouthfeel. Sweet and smoky finish, a tad on the metallic side. If this finished smoother, it would be well on its way to being a world-class porter.

Black color with a thin head. Very potent roasted malt aroma. There is a lot of bitterness in the taste which I was a little unprepared for, but it’s not a floral hoppy variety. It’s well balanced out with a truck load of malt and roast. Some smoke lingering around. I missed the chocolate and coffee, but this is still a damn fine porter.

Bottle. Black pour. Smokey and roasty malt aroma. Roasty malty flavors, and some hops and chocolate, finishes sweet and creamy, with some raisins. Nice medium body (as far as porters go), but the sweetness lingers a little too much.

12oz - B1 - Aroma is strong roasted chocolate malt, carmel, and a touch of hops. Pours black with a ring for head and decent lacing. Flavor is sweet dark chocolate, carmel, roasted coffee, and cream. Palate is slick, smooth, and creamy. A nice clean, tasty porter I will buy a lot more of.

Thanks to OhioDad for this one. Smoky, malty and mildy coffee-like. Deep black with a thumb thick mocha head. Fore is hoppy bitter then roasted barley malt follows. Very much in the Fuller’s vein as opposed to the more roasty and coffee/chocolate flavored American porters. Very nice brew.
