Pours black with a ring for head and decent lacing. Flavor is sweet dark chocolate, carmel, roasted coffee, and cream. Palate is slick, smooth, and creamy. A nice clean, tasty porter I will buy a lot more of. NYHarvey (2154), New York, New York, USA

Deep black with a thumb thick mocha head. Fore is hoppy bitter then roasted barley malt follows. Very much in the Fuller’s vein as opposed to the more roasty and coffee/chocolate flavored American porters. Very nice brew. Dough77 (777), Aurora, Illinois, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Aug 18, 2005 Well done porter (one of arcadias best brews). Pour was mildly thick dark brown/blackish with small brown head around the brim. Nose big on coffee, chocolate, smokiness, and solid malt. Flavor has all the fore mentioned, plus a nice touch of caramle, and dark fruit to round of the excepional, creamy, very drinkable brew. JK (2966), Richfield, Minnesota, USA

Black, with some sediment in the bottle. Flavor of bitter chocolate and coffee, followed by sweet cherries. This beer is almost syrup. hopdog (5614), Lansdale, Pennsylvania, USA

Poured a dark, dark brown color with an averaged sized light brown head. Aromas and tastes of chocolate, roasted malts, coffee and caramel. Nice bitter coffee finish. Solid body. A very good porter. heykevin (1269), Iowa City, Iowa, USA

Chocolate? check, roast? check, Caramel? check, whiff of earthy hops? check, coffee? oh yeah. Full bodied, earthy hop flavor, touch of molasses and caramel, but not too sweet. Good kiss of late hops. This is how its done, boys. Now, if it were only available locally and a bit more sessionable... whaleman (2171), North Wales, Pennsylvania, USA
| 4.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Jul 23, 2005 Dark, ruddy brown body with a velvety tan head. Aroma of chocolate, debittered malt, light roasted coffee beans, and some dark fruits that become especially prominent as it warms. Great well-toasted dark malt flavor with rich and lush fruity notes like chocolate-covered cherries and raisins. Moderate sweetness and some light acidity that ties the flavors together nicely. Aftertaste is particularly pleasing. This is an excellent porter, something I haven’t encountered in recent memory. Huge thanks OhioDad! BeerAteHer (384), St. Paul, Minnesota, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Jul 19, 2005 Though a bit sweet and malty for the style like a sweet stout, this is a very good beer. Opaque black color. Very peaty aroma -- what one would expect from a London porter. Flavor is very much dominated by sweet milk chocolate and has underlayings of smoke, hops & caramel. Finish is tangy and somewhat hoppy. Could use more hops to make it more representative of the style overall, but this is a good, filling beer nonetheless.
