Commercial Description:
Our Smoked Porter is a robust London style porter with a deep chocolate/ruby color and the subtle accent of hardwood smoked malt. This distinctive beer is brewed using no less than seven different varieties of premium European malted barley, resulting in a complex and full bodied beer characterized by hints of chocolate, coffee, caramel and beechwood smoke. The big malty finish to this beer is balanced by a solid hop bitterness and the refined English aroma and flavor of premium Goldings finishing hops.

Dark brownish black, creamy mocha colored head. A very nice deep roasty bitterness emanates immediately from the pint glass. As it warms, additional notes of toffee, milk chocolate, coffee, vanilla, and light smoke come to the forefront. The flavor was well balanced with more ashy hops up front, and a soft sweet caramel malt to round it out. Medium bodied, light carbonation, dry, bitter, roasted finish. Just another great beer coming out of Michigan....

This bottled brew poured a medium sized head of dark brown colored frothy fine to large sized bubbles that left behind a softly carbonated dark brown colored body that was opaque except around the edges which had a red hue and a very nice good lacing. Very nice dark malt Porter aroma with roasted malt and chocolate notes. The mouth feel was initially tingly with a strong tingly malty finish and fairly thick. The flavor contained notes of dark malts, mild hops and a mild malty bite with roasted malty and mild chocolate notes.

Near black color with a moderate larger bubbled, tan head. Lots of hops aromas at the first pour, but they diminish quickly and malt backbone comes out. Dark caramel, malted milk, cocoa, light peat and a touch of roasted walnuts. LIght and smooth across the palate. Flavors are simple, but with a purpose. Blackberries and black malt acidity. Mild grains and german chocolate. A very good brew.

This bad boy sat and waited for me. Poured a very deep black, with a thick creamy tan head. Aroma of roasted malts and coffee. This was great/ Coffee and bitter hops round out a very good porter. This was great. Finished smooth. There was a nice complexity to this. Would love more of this.

Looks like bayou water but doesn’t smell like rotten Flora.Has a rich roasted malty aroma with a complex blend of fruit and toffee. This is one of my favorite Porters.Almost tastes like a coffee and chocolate flourless cake.

Tap. Deep brown, hearing black in color. Decent brown head fades out and leaves mild lacing. Rich malty aroma with brown sugar and chocolate predominating. Full bodied. Sweet and malty tasting, lots of chocolate. I didn’t pick up any smoke in this one. Pretty good.
