Commercial Description:
Our Smoked Porter is a robust London style porter with a deep chocolate/ruby color and the subtle accent of hardwood smoked malt. This distinctive beer is brewed using no less than seven different varieties of premium European malted barley, resulting in a complex and full bodied beer characterized by hints of chocolate, coffee, caramel and beechwood smoke. The big malty finish to this beer is balanced by a solid hop bitterness and the refined English aroma and flavor of premium Goldings finishing hops.

A pitch brown beer with a fast disappearing brown head. The aroma is sweet with strong notes of both chocolate and caramel, but also hints of the alcohol showing off. The flavor is sweet malty combined with notes of stored fruits, and light notes of roasted malt and alcohol.

(Bottle 35,5 cl) Clear, orangey brown with a lightly creamy, beige head. Alomost vinous, roasted malt aroma. Medium body with dark, roasted malty accents. Almost a bit coffeeish without ever being overly burned or bitter. 290806

Dark brown, hazy. The aroma is coffeeish and fudgey with demerara notes, molasses and a wood hop background. Rich hoppy-roasty flavours with burnt toast accents. Finishes with an intense molasses sweetness. I’m glad I had the chance to revisit this brew.

Thank you Linus_stick/Alan for this one! It’s black/brown with a light brown, creamy head. The aroma has notes of roasted malt, caramel and dark fruits. The flavour is nice and chewy with notes of roasted malt, dark fruits, slightly bitter coffee, light chocolate and the finish is dry and bitter. It’s like it starts out very full and chewy, but at the end of each sip, it becomes thinner. That is a little minus for my overall impression of this otherwise very nice porter.

Bottle acquired in trade with TAR (thanks!). Poured a dark, dark brown color with an averaged sized light brown head. Aromas and tastes of chocolate, roasted malts, coffee and caramel. Nice bitter coffee finish. Solid body. A very good porter.
