Strong malt aroma, lots of coffee, and some green olives.
Taste is mostly coffee and dark chocolate, and the alcohol is definitely apparent.
Silky and oily mouthfeel, with a nice medium body.
It has a bitter chocolate finish that unfortunately does not linger...
Maverick34 (480), New York, USA Sep 19, 2008 Draft@dba. Twas’ a porter, was it not? Some coffee chox and all that. I didn’t think it was that great but who am I to argue with the godofconsensus? kseecs16 (576), Westmont, Illinois, USA Aug 31, 2008 Bottle. Pours an opaque dark brown with a creamy thin tan head that dissipates quickly and laces the glass slightly. Aroma was coffee and chocolately malt I did not detect any smoke character. Nice roast character some sweet notes pretty basic. Medium bodied with a dry roast lingering aftertaste.
