Arcadia Nut Brown Ale

12oz. Pours a dark hazy brown color with a light tan, foamy/fizzy head. Dissipates leaving light lacing. nose of dates and figs, light nuts, malty. Taste is very fizzy, as seems to be the norm with arcadia, some light nuts, bits of chocolate, a nice fizzy finish.

Poured a noce dark amber, with a clingy tan head. Aroma is fleeting to me, was that toffee, could that be malts, whiff of something else? The taste was dry, with faint roasted chocolate or caramel. The effervesces was a bit high, but the over all was a bit washed out. Thanks OHIODAD!

Another Arcadia mediocre attempt at a descent style. Pour was quite thin, watery brownish. Nose big on malt, nut, some vanilla and some caramel. Flavor wasnt as weak as I had expected upon pouring, but wasnt superb by any means either. Some chocolate intertwined with the nut and malt, made for a descent brew.

This poured with 90% head and a sour mash nose over a deep woodsy brown. I suspect this bottle was old and/or contaminated. It was sugary sweet, almost grotesquely so ... i’d like to try it again.

Big hiss as the cap came off, pouring a deep brown with a booming, tan and foamy head. As it fades, it looks like a root beer float. Aroma is caramel, pine, pecans, toffee, chocolate and a little steel twang left hanging in the air. Flavor takes on some bock characteristics with the way it implores chocolate and caramel malts. Also has a distinct earthy nuttiness to the flavor. Very fizzy body. Carbonation is a little much, but it’s otherwise good for a brown. Nutty finish and a slight metallic aftertaste.

Bottle from sampler set. Dark brown with average frothy light brown head. Average aroma of molasses, hops and nutty tone. Medium body with medium sweet finish. Average sweet flavor.

Pours out a clear amber. The head foams up nicely and quickly dissipates, leaving behind little evidence that it ever existed. Sweet, caramel-like aroma is evident, a combination of sweet malts with a bit of nuts and a hint of chocolate as well. The taste was sweet overall as well; sweet nuts and roasted malts with a hint of bittersweet chocolate on the finish. There were also fruity tones in here like that of dates or raisins. It’s definitely a medium to light-bodied beer. The carbonation level was quite low. That was fine by me since I don’t like a heavy carbonation in my beers. However, someone who likes the bite a good level of carbonation brings to the brew might not appreciate the low level the same way I do.

12oz - Pours medium brown with a short offhwhite head that lingers. Aroma is mostly caramel malt. A little vanilla. Flavor is mostly the same a little nutty on the finish. On the palate this is light and somewhat watery. This is average at bedst. Nothing outstanding at all.
