Commercial Description:
Our Nut Brown Ale is a full bodied English-style brown ale with a deep mahogany color. We use six different types of premium malted barley to create a flavor that includes hints of chocolate, raisins, dates and almonds. The malty sweet finish is balanced by a smooth bitterness and a subtle fruitiness in flavor and hop aroma.

Pretty dark garnet/brown with a frothy, white ring for a head. Aroma chocolate and dark fruits. Flavor nondescriptly malty with a light hop finish and not much else; where does the "nut" brown come in? Medium body. Weak when served cold, average when warmer.

Brown with a tawny head. Sweet, but little malt. Lacking the chaulky mouthfeel I find typical of browns. Aroma of watery molasses and alcohol. Nothing nutty about it. Flavor of pepsi w/o the sugar. Not terribly true to style or inspiring. Just O.K.

When I used to live in Michigan I drove by this brewery and never had one of their beers. Boy was that a mistake. Michigan has some very good beers and I’m very excited in giving this one a try. Very good brown. Nice chocolate flavor, solid malts, a wee bit vinegary. Smooth and drinkable. Respectable effort on the part of Arcadia and another very nice beer. I think you’ll enjoy it.

Bottle. Light tan head tops a ruddy brown color. Aroma is brown sugar, walnuts and a little bubblegum. Surprisingly, the taste it not at all sweet. A coppery roast beef and bread make this rather unpleasant. A typical brown ale.

Medium thick, smooth and sweet, lightly roasted and caramel. My problem with this beer is the finish - lactic and sour, left a bad taste in my mouth.

Deep brown with a gigantic head! Smell is quite ordinary to a nut brown, but the taste is more complex than the average. Light chocolates, deep roasted nuts. A very solid brew.

Poured dark brown with a medium tan head. Dark roasted aroma but somewhat thin taste. A bit sweet, decent mouthfeel with moderate carbonation.

Dark brown to red in color. Big up front dry, grainy, malty, earthy taste. Medium bodied, finished dry.
