Commercial Description:
Our Nut Brown Ale is a full bodied English-style brown ale with a deep mahogany color. We use six different types of premium malted barley to create a flavor that includes hints of chocolate, raisins, dates and almonds. The malty sweet finish is balanced by a smooth bitterness and a subtle fruitiness in flavor and hop aroma.

12oz bottle. Thick ambery-brown color. Rich, creamy, with a nice chocolaty taste that lingers in the aftertaste. Sweet brown sugar aroma. Very drinkable and refreshing. This is really an excellent Brown Ale, vastly underrated.

Looks great with an obvious sweet nutty nose. Drinks easily and has a very pleasant roasted character. Sweet malt and biscuits. Nice effort.

Wow...this is one of the best brown ales I’ve ever had. Nice nutty aroma with hints of raisin and wine. Pour was a nice (you guessed it) deep brown with a 2 finger almost tan head. Taste was very nutty and delicious. Maple, caramel malt and wine with a nice thin mouthfeel. Not sticky or thick. Delicious.

Pours brown with a fine, moderate head. Aroma is caramel and hops. Sweet, malty flavor with a mild hop bitterness.

Bottle: Not bad, but not great brown ale. Pours brown with a small head. Slight aroma of nuts and flavor of same. Finish is somewhat acidic.

12 oz. brown bottle. Old sample. Bottled on 1/8/07, according to their website. Why are they selling old stock to the public, and why won’t they answer email inquiries? Lazy bastards. BTW, this beer is a certified drain pour. Nasty, chalky, and way, way past it’s prime.

Deep brown pour with 1-finger of off-white head. Nose is caramel malt, brown sugar, almond, walnut. Tastes malty and nutty, with some late hops and a medium to light palate heft.

Extremely tinny lime smell. Brown pour with floaties and thin tan head. Soapy lime flavor. Light bark and grass finish. Thinnish mouthfeel. Hardly like any brown ale I’ve ever had. Amber? Maybe.
