| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | May 15, 2007 12 oz bottle. Pours a dark rich brown color. Aroma is that of yeast, some hops, and roasted malts. Flavor is pretty creamy, with coffee, nuts, and roasted malts taking the forefront to the flavors of the beer. Not bad, though nothing special. A good beer to drink - but not really to savor. sethdude (601), St. Louis, Missouri, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | May 14, 2007 Pours a rich chocolatey brown, large, foamy head. Aroma is yeasty, sharp, acidic hops, and alcohol. Flavor is initially very vegetable-like (carrots, onions), turning to nuttiness, and then chocolate, back to nuttiness, and ending grassy. | 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | May 1, 2007 From a 12 oz. bottle with a notched bottling/freshness date along the right side of label, sampled at cellar temperature in a pint glass.
Poured a cloudy reddish brown with foamy, creamy off-white/pale tan head that settled into a thin sudsy lacing.
Had a fruity and nutty nose, raisins, fresh dates and roasted almonds, with a light backing of chocolate malts.
Good medium carbonation and a crisp, dry, chewy, creamy smooth medium-light bodied mouthfeel.
A pleasant nut brown taste, a tasty fruitiness, dates and berries, roasted almond nuts, grainy and lightly roasted chocolate malts, subtle citric hops, the alcohol is barely noticeable, and a big dry nutty, grainy and chocolate malty finish.
Another good English style beer from Arcadia, easy drinkability, a good nut brown ale.

| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Apr 25, 2007 Bottle. Not a terrible brown ale at all - not my favorite style though. Sweet, caramel malts with definite fruity sweetness near the finish. Sweet all the way through with a notable lack of balance. Better than Newcastle, thats for sure. If I’d had another one I would have drank it. xnoxhatex (1305), Grand Rapids/Chicago, Michigan, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Apr 18, 2007 Beautiful brown body with red hints. Roasted malt aroma with hints of dates and doughiness. Sweet, roasted malt that fades to a wierd alc finish, but not to overwhelming. Body is light to medium with little carbonation. A pretty solid nut brown. Hollywoodt (174), Grand Rapids, Michigan, USA
