Commercial Description:
Step into the Scottish Highlands with this authentic Strong Scotch Ale. A lovely and deep garnet color is joined by the aroma of plums and toffee in this unique and special ale. Brewed with Maris Otter malted barley from Crisp Maltings, Ltd. in England, the rich and full-bodied feel of this beer brings out flavors of caramel and roasted chestnuts, which is balanced with a clean and crisp alcohol finish, and just the right amount of lingering hop bitterness. A real treat!

Bottle. Dark brown body with red accents and a medium creamy off-white head. Aroma of caramel and burnt sugar and further notes of fruit and bread. Fairly light at times for the style - light smoke, pleasant caramel, and semi-sweet chocolate are the most prominent flavours present. Tasty.

12 oz. bottle. Pours adeep mahogany color with a small diminishing beige head. The aroma has notes of sweet caramel, earthy light peat, and molasses. The flavor has a strong malt presence with enough hops to keep it mostly balanced. Caramel malt, vanilla, molasses, and some alcohol are the predominant flavors. Medium full body, mostly creamy mouthfeel ending with a dry finish.

pretty basic for a scotch ale...hazy brown body with small head...aroma of raison, charred chocolate, and nutmeg...flavor of spice, chocolate, toffee, toast, and a touch of alcohol...not bad, but quite basic

Directly from bottle, so I did not get to view the beer. Not bad. Very malty and strong.

Something is wrong with this guy - Dark eggplantish pour with a large off-white head. Aroma is roasty with some light ice tea. Flavor is excessively medicinal and could be infected. WTF?

It poured dark almost, almost opaque. The sweet, malty taste came through first, very lightly hopped. Great mouth-feel, leaving a a pleasant malt finish.

This is a really tasty beer. While I don’t think it really fall into the Scotch Ale category, not really alcoholic enough, no real heavy maltyness, but i is one of the most pleasant beers I have had. Soda pop, in the best terms. Sweet, refreshing and delicious. Could easily cause me to drink far more then I should.
