Commercial Description:
Step into the Scottish Highlands with this authentic Strong Scotch Ale. A lovely and deep garnet color is joined by the aroma of plums and toffee in this unique and special ale. Brewed with Maris Otter malted barley from Crisp Maltings, Ltd. in England, the rich and full-bodied feel of this beer brings out flavors of caramel and roasted chestnuts, which is balanced with a clean and crisp alcohol finish, and just the right amount of lingering hop bitterness. A real treat!

This is a really tasty beer. While I don’t think it really fall into the Scotch Ale category, not really alcoholic enough, no real heavy maltyness, but i is one of the most pleasant beers I have had. Soda pop, in the best terms. Sweet, refreshing and delicious. Could easily cause me to drink far more then I should.

This was an easy drink for a scotch ale. No real alcohol presence. This reminded me of a stronger octoberfest brew. trace spice and maltiness. Good brew here.

This beer is hazy and brown when poured out into a glass. It has a an aromaof strong nutmeg and fall spices. As you drink it you can taste all of the fall spices as well as a tart mild furit flavor, the booze is not as well masked in this beer.

The pour reveals a brown, cola like colour with an off-white cap that persists. The aroma was complex and a bit a odd. Storng nutmeg and cinnomon stick out above a malty, peaty, pitted fruit background. I also get some toffee in the nose. The flavour is simialar to the nose, besides the astringent, alcoholic bourbon-like finish that adds, complexiy, but to me, fouls the beer. The palate is a bit thin considering the robustness of the flavours.

clear dark brown with ruby edges, light dark caramel malt aroma with light earthy character, tart lactic flavor, bitterness vies with the tartness, touch of cooked vegitables adds complexity and a bit of sweetness,

Draft at Radio Maria in Champaign, IL. Pours deep mahogany brown with a dissipating off white head. Aroma of plums and dark caramel. Medium bodied with a slight thin texture. Flavor was too sweet, and was mostly plums and almonds with some slight unpleasant phenols on the finish. I did not really care for this one.

12oz bottle. Garnet brown hue. Ring of off white head. Toffee and cocoa in the nose. Nutty with a subtle fruity undertone. Medium to full bodied with big acidity. Initial off putting buttery malt flavor. Coffee acidity spikes the palate towards the finish. Malty toffee and chocolate notes. Vanilla sweetness. Berry notes and a slight yet appreciated citrus effervescence. The balance is a little off for my liking, but the burn and gravity really play a part. This is gonna be a fun little outside beer in a few months. Good drinkability and nice warming palate. Moderately cloying.Chocolate covered bananas. Yeah, I get it. It hits me both good and bad. But good enough.

Pours crystal clear dark brown with a beautiful dark red tint and a small tan head. The aroma has very roasted sweet malt, toffee and light bread. The flavor delivers a toffee and anise blend, well toasted malt and only moderate sweetness. On the finish all the sweetness is gone and it is quite bitter and dry with coffee notes. This is a different take on the style, but nothing I need to revisit.
