Commercial Description:
Step into the Scottish Highlands with this authentic Strong Scotch Ale. A lovely and deep garnet color is joined by the aroma of plums and toffee in this unique and special ale. Brewed with Maris Otter malted barley from Crisp Maltings, Ltd. in England, the rich and full-bodied feel of this beer brings out flavors of caramel and roasted chestnuts, which is balanced with a clean and crisp alcohol finish, and just the right amount of lingering hop bitterness. A real treat!

Tap @ brewery: Deep ruby red color with small off white head. Aroma is sweet, hint of cherries and peat. Flavor is malty, mildly sweet, slightly tart, nutty, faint metallic note in finish. Mildly sweet finish with a bit of bitterness. Carbonation is too high, slight astringency.

Burnt brown pour, really darker than expected. Charred cookie adds astringency to the mostly sweet, caramel laced nose. Also a bit of dark chocolate, graham cracker and plum as well. The body is heavy, almost cloying at times. Laden with sugary sweet malt, the body is chocolate, earth and wood throughout. A slight hop bitterness in the finish helps to evens the keel. Seems more stout like than a scotch, but hey, who’s counting. Still a great beer.

12 oz. Pours a dark brown/ruby with a small lasting head. Aroma is of sweet malt, toffee. Taste is all about the malt, again, caramel, toffee, some slight roastiness with a smooth bitter finish

This is like an oatmeal stout to me, but in stead of a stout its an ale. Nicely played boys, nicely played.

Dark brown body. Aroma is full of malt — sweet caramel, raisins and a hint of burnt malts. The flavor is sweet with notes of plums and caramel with smokey, earthy undertones. Medium body is slightly sticky. Nice warmth from the alcohol. Tasty, enjoyable.

Dark brown bordering on black pour with a dark tinted white head. Charred watermelon aroma with a fuel note. Smooth thick buttery lemon cake flavor. Back end of this is a bit woody a little smoky maybe. Feels good, tastes alright, I’m not upset I bought a 6 pack. Ap-4 ar-4 tas-6 pal-5 ov-14

A small beige head tops a chestnut body. There is caramel sweetness, rum, peat, licorice, vanilla, and floral essence in the nose. Medium body and gentle carbonation. The flavor is pleasant with some hops bitterness balancing the sweetness. A nice brew.
