Commercial Description:
Step into the Scottish Highlands with this authentic Strong Scotch Ale. A lovely and deep garnet color is joined by the aroma of plums and toffee in this unique and special ale. Brewed with Maris Otter malted barley from Crisp Maltings, Ltd. in England, the rich and full-bodied feel of this beer brings out flavors of caramel and roasted chestnuts, which is balanced with a clean and crisp alcohol finish, and just the right amount of lingering hop bitterness. A real treat!

Bottle: Dark brown pour, tan head diminishing to a thin ring. Well carbonated appearance, loads of sediment collected at the bottom of the glass even with a careful pour. Aroma had a strong funk/must to it (sweat socks), graham cracker, bread, sweet malts. Flavor was of toasted bread, smoke, caramel, funk, raisens, overly sweet and acidic. Overly warming and too much funk.

12 oz bottle. Cloudy dark amber with a small head. Aroma is dough and dried fruit to go with chocolate and caramel. Taste is similar with some smoke, peat and more chocolate. Some cherry or rasberry flavors are in there also. Its balanced nice enough but there is a slight acidic taste that I’m not into.

Extremely dark brown with thin light tan head. Sweet malt aroma. Strong caramalized malty sweetness with a hint of plum accompanied with a smoky tone. Medium-full body with light hops, noticable presence of alcohol.

Dark brown with an off white head and spotty lacing. Wet malts in the nose with some caramel and nutmeg. Slightly earthy. Nutty and earthy flavors along with caramel malts. Nutmeg again with some vinous qulaities. Good body with a malty finish.

Dark thick cloudy mahogany with very thin indicators of head and small lacing. Nose of sherry, light english hops and malt syrup. The flavor is lightly acidic with a strong malt presence nicely balanced by the hop notes. The finish has a thick body and drinks rather smooth. I like it but there’s some dry notes and overcaramelized things about it I don’t like. Thanks TAR!

Bottle Pours a dark coffee color with medium tan head. Solid Scotch ale with medium aroma, and flavor of smokey malt with a very earthy tone and a small alcohol bite in a good long finish. due to flavor and body plus the alcohol level good combo with good cigar.

Extremely dark, murky garnet; small, diminishing head. Aroma of malts, caramel, licorice, and lots of dark fruit; slight alcohol note. Flavor is a bit less distinctive--quite sweet, mostly malts, caramel, and raisin. Medium body; fairly sticky. Nice brew.
