Mar 18, 2005 the only scotch ale I’ve had, so I’ve got nothing similar to base this off... sweet to start with a piney close. A nice deep red color, too. An unassuming and delicious ale.

Feb 28, 2005 Thanks to BBB63 for this one. Pours hazy deep ruby thorugh light (dark brown via ambient light), with medium off-white head and visible hop floaties. Aroma of malt, chocoff, hops. Tastes malty, with a chocoff element, plus some finishing hops. Complex taste, with a mdeium palate. Notable smoothness and balance. Very good.

Feb 22, 2005 Not the full flavor I was looking forward to. One dimensional malt flavor without the sweetness that the style usually has. Thin and watery ale. Kinka blah.

Feb 21, 2005 Pours dark opaque brown with no head. Decent malt aroma with some dark fruit, raisin? Nice lacing. Flavor was sweet malt and that’s it. A little alcohol in finish. Just o.k.

Feb 11, 2005 Dark ruby brown body topped by a small light tan head. The aroma is soft caramel and light smoke. Sweet malty flavor, caramel and raisins dominate with light peaty smoke. Lightly bitter. Soft medium body.

Jan 29, 2005 (12oz bottle) Small beige head atop a brown-black body. Aroma is medium sweet, caramel, light peat, raisin, anise. Taste is moderately sweet, caramel, raisin, light peat. Some earthy bitterness in the swallow. Watery medium-full body, some stickiness.
