Commercial Description:
Step into the Scottish Highlands with this authentic Strong Scotch Ale. A lovely and deep garnet color is joined by the aroma of plums and toffee in this unique and special ale. Brewed with Maris Otter malted barley from Crisp Maltings, Ltd. in England, the rich and full-bodied feel of this beer brings out flavors of caramel and roasted chestnuts, which is balanced with a clean and crisp alcohol finish, and just the right amount of lingering hop bitterness. A real treat!

A very dark cola/porter color with a thin soapy white head.Aroma is earthy dark caramel malt,a hint at some faint smoke,a touch of butter, and maby a sugary fruit like plumbs. Flavor is complex and malt driven some chocolate, bananas, sweet toasted malt, earthy peat, licorice, full mouthfeel, lively carbonation,Way better than expected,I could drink a shit load of this. Good job Arcadia.

Smells strongly of smoke flavor with some bitter hops as well. Taste is pungent smoke with dark chocolately malts and some bitter hops. Very nice scotch ale, if you can stand the smokiness

12 oz bottle pours a dark brown with almost no head. Malty nose some charred notes. Caramel, roasted malts, the hops are fading and the malts are annoyingly fruity. Finishes with the fruity malts becoming dry. Not to enjoyable.

Pours cola brown with minimal head. Sweet, malty, toffee aroma with some hop scents. Flavor is molasses/toffee sweet, roast malt, ending dry, crisp, and a little hoppy. Reasonably well balanced. Medium mouthfeel.

Bottled. Pours dark brown with a light brown head. Aroma is caramel, toffee, and bread. Flavor is a sweet malt with roasted bread notes. Has a crisp finish that leaves a bitter aftertaste that slowly fades to sweetness.

Pours a transparent dark amber mahogany with a thin, spotty-lacing light tan head. Aroma of lightly sweet dark caramel with some light fruity esters and a hint of earthy peat. Body starts semi-dry and earthy bitter with some faint toasty notes and a touch of peat before a dry finish. Could use some more dark caramely sweetness and smoky character, but still a decent Scotch ale.

Crushed with Jakebra. Nast, poop and scotch on the nose. No balance. Musty flavor. A scotch ale, maybe, but a good one not even close. Drinkablility is not good.

Bottle.
Pours a nice, deep shoe polish brown with hefty head of off-white, similar to a Guinness. Aroma is sweet candy, with hints of brown sugar. Aroma takes a total 180, with peat, smoked chocolate, and nut coming to the forefront. Nice mouthfeel. I can’t place it, but there’s something that is keeping this beer from being fantastic.
