Taste is fruity and malty and obviously way overcarbonated. Kind of foams in the mouth and doesn’t have much of a peaty smoky flavor, which I like, but is probably not comepletely right as it is way to foamy in the mouth and bubbly. Some roasted nuts. Full-bodied, but not as crisp as I would have liked. Cobra (1066), In a van, down by the river, Maryland, USA

Poured out a deep, murky brown color, with a thin mocha colored head. Aromas are of smoked raisins, funky lager yeast. Flavors are not much better, with a smoky malt presence, mixed with roasted malt / burnt sugar, and stale hops. Not the best Scotch ale I ever had. tarc (47), New Jersey, USA

I try to pour my beers very carefuly into a slightly and I still got a head more than half of the glass, more than I prefer. Also more bitter hops than I like. Did someone drop an Alka-Slezer into my drink? Rciesla (3750), Exit 15W, New Jersey, USA

It leaves a great coating on my tounge. Leaves me with a good impression. A very quality scotch ale to enjoy in the mid-day. guyinchicago (534), marengo, Illinois, USA

| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Apr 18, 2008 12 oz. bottle. Pours a clear dark brown with a thin off-white head that disappeared after the first two sips. Very earthy aroma of heavily peated malt and pumpkin. The flavor was again heavily peated malt, which just overpowered anything else going on with this beer. There is also a strong alcohol flavor that emerges near the finish. I like scotch ales very much, but I could do without this one.
