Commercial Description:
Step into the Scottish Highlands with this authentic Strong Scotch Ale. A lovely and deep garnet color is joined by the aroma of plums and toffee in this unique and special ale. Brewed with Maris Otter malted barley from Crisp Maltings, Ltd. in England, the rich and full-bodied feel of this beer brings out flavors of caramel and roasted chestnuts, which is balanced with a clean and crisp alcohol finish, and just the right amount of lingering hop bitterness. A real treat!

A Mes rate: Bottle at Chris O’s Fukito tasting.
Semi translucent red borwn with a slim off white head. Sweet fruity malt aroma with some alcohol, lots of berries and some slight soap. More sweet malt in the flavour, lots of yeast and some spice. Quite dry which is a little unexpected. Some slight smoky notes. Just really doesn’t work for me.

Dark garnet to deep brown. Slight beige head. All about malt in the nose, oily nuts and marrying chocolate, almost vanilla-ish in its sweetness with the balancing earthiness, but lacking smokiness. More alcohol presence than expected that lingers alonga sourish nutskin/roasted malts dryness. Not much of a scotch ale ultimately, it has the adequate prune-like fruitiness, but the malt ain’t that complex.

Sparkling clear, cherry wood-colored ale with a medium-sized, creamy, beige head. Good retention and great lacework. The aroma is very malty with notes of butterscotch, caramel, toffee and alcohol. Very light notes of chocolate and cola in the nose as well. Well-hopped for a Scottish ale. Great balance. Some caramel and whiskey blasts in the flavor, followed by some tawny port notes. Medium-bodied with an oily mouthfeel and lively carbonation. Short, bitter, fairly dry finish. Excellent Scotch ale!
