zootfinster (151), Chicago, Illinois, USA Sep 11, 2007 This is a really tasty beer. While I don’t think it really fall into the Scotch Ale category, not really alcoholic enough, no real heavy maltyness, but i is one of the most pleasant beers I have had. Soda pop, in the best terms. Sweet, refreshing and delicious. Could easily cause me to drink far more then I should.
AndrewKScott (239), Lemont, Illinois, USA Jul 11, 2008 Had this on New Years eve and crushed a few of them. Look, if you like scotch ales, this beer isn’t really for you. If you’ve never had a scotch ale, it could turn you off from Scotch ales for a while. So, you really should buy this unless a. it’s your only option, or b. you’re a completist/masochjist/beermo/person who enjoys drinking things that don’t taste good. It’s very caramelly sweet, and kind of metallic. I will not ever buy or drink this again. mansquito (568), Boston/Philadelphia, USA Jul 6, 2008 Pretty dark and a beige head. Metallic smelling and sweet roasty smelling as well. Caramel and fruit in the flavor. SOmewhat sour. Metallic aftertaste. I didn’t really like this beer at all and tried to trade away most of my six-pack. pint_size (999), Austin, Texas, USA Jun 11, 2008 6-9-08 bottle
Maroon brown in color with a beige head that isn’t long lasting at all. Smell is malt and sweet fruit and toffee. Flavor is light malt sweet roastiness. Super soda carbonation - so bubbly it is fizzy. Way too much for me. Overall, the palate killed this one. lb4lb (1270), Austin, Texas, USA Jun 9, 2008 Pours dark brownish with a huge foamy bubbly beige head. Smell is an odd malty brightness. Taste is fruity and malty and obviously way overcarbonated. Kind of foams in the mouth and doesn’t have much of a peaty smoky flavor, which I like, but is probably not comepletely right as it is way to foamy in the mouth and bubbly. Rogueone (291), I F&ckin’ hate those guys from, Ohio, USA May 19, 2008 Draft @ Brewpub: Very dark amber pour. Aroma and flavor of sweet caramel malts and alcohol. Some roasted nuts. Full-bodied, but not as crisp as I would have liked.
