12 ounce bottle. Shaker glass. Black with a chocolate malt head. Aroma - coffee and a bit of whisky. Flavor had notes of coffeee, baking chocolate and sour cherry with perhaps a hiunt of oatmeal.

This black ale poured with a nice tan head. There is a good stout flavor, but it is a bit thin.

Pours pitch black with a decent sized tan head. Nose is just beautiful. Extremely full with perfectly balanced cocoa character. Calms down as time goes on. Flavor is smooth with an obvious sweet edge. A bitter tone is what you get for an aftertaste. Nice malty smoothness, sure. But not as flavorful as I would love for it to be. The bitter could stand to be overshadowed by something more pleasant. Still, it is a robust stout. Feel has a good carbonation to it and the body of the liquid is pretty good. Overall a nice hearty stout. There isn’t really much to pick on it about. Added note: I found this was much better at room temperature than chilled at all.

12oz bottle. "C-3". Deep dark brown hue. Ring of beige head. Cola toffee and sugary aromas. Touch of pipe tobacco. Subtle soy notes mixed with anise. A tad coffee. Layered aromas. Nice. Medium to full bodied with smooth malts and a nice bitter hop finish. Chocolate flavors. Also bready toasty malts and a nice coffee acidity. The finish is well blended and flavorfully hoppy. Floral hop notes marry well with the sweet oatmeal malt profile. This does have a very nice melding between the ingredients. Not great, but still seems a tad underrated.

Bottle. Pours a thick dark brown with a thin mahogany head. Aroma is sweet, malty (chocolate and molasses) and a bit oaty. The taste is mild and bitter. The aftertaste is somewhat disappointing. The palate is thin and overly carbonated.
