A: Pours a fairly standard looking stout style, inky black. Virtually no head whatsoever, but leaves a bit of swirling, creamy foam as the beer dwindles.
S: Nice aroma of roasted oats and bitter but sweet coffee flavors.
T: Decent sweet roasted oats to begin, but the flavoring simply disappears too quickly. It leaves me wanting more, or least more fuller flavoring, the beer simply doesn’t offer enough. This is a rather bland beer.
M: Very thin-bodied beer, I was really hoping it’d be a solid bready mouthfeel, but this is entirely lacking chewiness. It’s almost watery.
D: It’d be easy enough to session with this beer, but quite frankly it’s not exciting enough to drink more than 1 or 2. cathcacr (594), Portland, Oregon, USA

This one burst forth with mad froth and gurgled for five minutes. Heavy sediment of something. So maybe this beer was effed. As it stands, this was thin-bodied, slightly roasty, slightly bittersweet. I could taste it. In mouthfeel, though, this beer was hardly there. Part of me wants to rate this a 5, the other part wants to rate it a 7. Uh, 6/10.

Flavor was the same with just a little coffee thrown in. Finished with a little bitter. puzzl (2660), New York, New York, USA
| 2.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 4/5 | 4/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | Jan 3, 2007 Crappy stout. Very mineraly in both aroma and taste, little roastiness, and too much lactic sourness in the mouth; bitter, birch, mint. Kind of reminds me of Sam Adams Rootbeer, but not as interesting... just the crappy aspect. This one needs some serious work. ogglethorp (890), Ohio, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 2/5 | 14/20 | Jan 3, 2007 Bottle. Pours a opaque dark brown, with a fairly large tan colored head that hangs around a while. Aroma is sweet toasted malt, coffee, chocolate. Flavor is roasted malts, chocolate, caramel, coffee, some hops. Palate is medium light, which I find to be a let down for an otherwise decent stout, medium catbonation, bitter finish. Pretty good. beerbuzzmontreal (2935), Montreal, Quebec, Canada
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Jan 3, 2007 Pours a deep black color with tiny brown highlights and a ring of creamy light brown lace. Good aroma of roasted malt and chocolate. Very good flavor of roasted malt, toasted bread, chocolate and mild hops with a mild bitter finish. The body is light with a creamy texture and soft carbonation. Good stuff.
