Bottle, from SuIIy (USA) Ok nose, sweet. Malty. Get a little oat, viny, kind of soy sauce. Brownish black color, small head thqt faded quickly, minor lacing. Bitterish flavor, like aroma with the viny/tinny bitterness really strong. A little oat/cereal thing. This is a sweet stout? Medium body, thin creamy mouthfeel, bitter finish. . Largely unenjoyable, Well I can’t say I wasn’t warned as SuIIy & ClarkVV chuckled as they gave it to me...

Bottlle. Look sjust like cola-nearly opaque with a ring of bubbles. Nose-slight cold coffee and chocolate. Taste-malted milk balls, watered down chocolate and coffee, mocha, tinny, burnt caramel, medium bitter, cereal, and dark molasses. Not overly sweet, bitter, or burnt. Pretty damn respectable. It is rare to find a stout that I could drink pint fter pint of, but this is one.

04.19.06 12oz bottle picked up in Lexington. Mostly black stuff, some haze, almost opaque, with medium sized and long lasting head of dense brown foam. Aromas are at first estery with notes of bubblegum, caramelized dark fruits, and a tropical background to a proudly emerging platform of sweet mocha, mildly roasty coffee. Body is perhaps thinner than advertised, but it’s still creamy and soft with fine carbonation. Tastes of more sweet coffee and mocha with some hints of caramelized citrus. Very drinkable stuff that might be better a better respected stout from most other states.

bottle - Poured a ridiculously huge head. Is that because i let it warm up a little bit before I opened it? Or does it mean the bottle is old? I don’t know. Even with almost half the bottle poured out, the contents of the bottle foamed up out the top after a couple minutes of sitting on the counter. Anyway, it’s black and I didn’t notice until the end that there’s quite a bit of sediment. The aroma is mainly dark roast malts. The taste is as well, along with coffee notes. It’s a bit unusual, though in this case it doesn’t quite work for me. The taste seems kind of off. It’s not bad tasting. It’s just not too good either. The finish is alright. rerate - This was better on tap at the brewery, so I’m going to adjust the rating slightly from 3.1 total to 3.3.

12oz bottle acquired in trade. Poured a dark black color with a larger sized brown head. Aromas of chocolate, roasted malts, and very light oat. Tastes of roasted malts, chocolate, oatmeal, and a tin. The metallic tinniness completely threw me off. Lacing left on the glass.

Aroma of roasted malts and a bit of chocolate. The flavor, too, was just as stout-like, offering roasted malts learning toward the burnt side with a hint of choclate. But there was also a slight metallic aftertaste on top of the hop bitterness. Finish on the dry side. Fairly smooth mouthfeel. The pour was black. Nice try, but didn’t come together for me.
