Dec 5, 2004 Deep brown liquid. Mocha head. Aroma is very bitter roast malts. Flavor is more acrid bitter malts. Texture is full. Aftertaste is pretty bitter as well. I’d like to say right now that this is bad bitter, not good bitter. Difficult to finish.

Nov 30, 2004 Dark black color, huge foamy light brown head that leaves a sticky lacing in my glass, roasty chocolate-coffee aromas. Fruity chocolate- coffee flavors, nice bitter-sweet feel, good roasted bitterness in the finish. Light to medium body with a soft and creamy mouthfeel, a decent stout.

Nov 4, 2004 Bottle: Aroma is sweet chocolate with a strong licorice presence. Light coffee. Pours a dark brown, virtually black with a nice tan head with good retention. Nice lacing. Flavor is almost all black coffee. No licorice like the aroma would indicate and very little chocolate. Finishes with a light chocolate and kind of watered down bitterness. A little thin. Not the best stout.

Sep 12, 2004 A tiny head and a nice aroma to start. Black in color, but a bit thin altogether. Nice and hoppy with a salty feel and bitter aftertaste. Not too impressed.

Aug 29, 2004 (bottle - Indiana brewers fest) Deep black stout with a thickl off white head (too much). The server seemed a bit slushed and served it too qucikly is my guess, Light choclate aroma with a powdery chocolate mouthfeel and some good hops.

Aug 28, 2004 dark body with a lacey white head, fruity mocha aroma, crispy malt/coffee flavor, dry finish, watery body, I wouldn’t wear a purple sequenced suit in public for a taste of this beer... I’d do that for free.

Aug 19, 2004 The aroma was faint. From what I could pick up, it had a coffee aroma. The taste was very uneventful. It’s almost as if all of the flavors that the brewer tried to give this beer counter-acted one another, leaving nothing...not even an aftertaste to speak of. I would consider this to be a beer that is more boring than bad.
