Aroma of roasted malts, smoke, pear and sweet malts. Taste of deep roasted malts, coffee with a semi bitter finish. hombrepalo (780), Chicago, Illinois, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Aug 1, 2008 12 oz bottle. A nice caramel colored head atop a black body. Sweet caramel and irish creme aroma. Hoppy flavor in a pretty good overall stout. Chocolate and dryness are both enjoyable, with a nice dark appearance and head. There was something there I didn’t really care for.

Flavor is some roasted malts and a whole lotta watery. Very light for the style and nothng really outstading. This brewer is either a big hit or big miss. | 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | May 19, 2008 On nitro @ brewpub: Pours dark, creamy tan head as you’d expect. Smells sweet, and of caramel malts. A bit watered down (maybe due to nitro), but flavor is heavily roasted malt, toffee, and a bit spiced overtop chocolate malts. Not bad. beerbill (1985), Laurel, New York, USA
| 2.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 10/20 | May 3, 2008 12 oz. bottle. Pours black with a moderate light brown head that lasted until mid-glass and left partial lace. Pleasant aroma of chocolate, raisins, and sweet malt. This is one of those beers where the flavor is completely disconnected from the aroma. Predominantly roasted malt with no fruit or sweetness at all. The flavor then becomes smokey and dry with notes of ash. Light on the palate and very dry; definitely not creamy. Disappointing. HighGravity (891), Baltimore, Maryland, USA
| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | Apr 19, 2008 Smooth easy drinking sweetish style stout. That has a distinct crystal malt character to it. The finish is long a silky and perhaps the best aspect of the beer. dukefan (173), Dallas, Texas, USA
