Cask-conditioned at the Bag O’Nails, Bristol 20/5/08. Deep amber coloured with a slight white head. A fairly standard bitter, with some fruit and caramel in the aroma, followed by a sweetish flavour with some marmalade, earthy hops and a short bitter finish. Good.

Hand pulled at the Anchor, Birmingham, during their Archers weekend. Orange bitter, with a nice roughly fluffed head. Good citric bitterness - full flavoured and quenching, with a nice length finish. Hoppy, prickly fruit mouthfeel. Strong and nice - a notch above the crowd and easily the best Archers beer of the night.

Cask Conditioned, at the Wenlock Arms, London.
Amber with a speckled beige head. Deep hoppy aroma. Smooth malts settling into deep green, sour, hops finish. [This beer was just called Maypole, and at 4.5%, served in May, but looks similar enough].

Cask, Dog & Bone, Gillingham.

Huge floral citric aroma. Bold citric rush in the flavour with a juicy orange base. Good, clean and refreshing. Damn fine ale.
