Half pint, gravicask at the great pub The Swan, Little Totham (see places, under Essex). Dark copper with a rusty tint. Lacing-head. Smell of dark malt sweetness. Biscuit-like taste with chocolate hints. Medium bitter finish. Firm mouthfeel (in the beer garden with good friends on a sunny afternoon, 03.05.2008).

From cask at Charlies. Pours clear and dark brown with a bubbly tan head. Light roasted and toffee like malt aroma. Flavour is nicely roasted malt with a subdued sweetness. Light roasted malt flavour with a light acidic touch before the finish. Mild roasted finish, nicely dry too.

Cask @ Charlies, Cph.
Pours deep brown with a slight red hue. Nice, small, creamy off-white head. Aroma has caramel, light hoppiness. Low carbonation, a bit thin, but otherwise fine palate. Flavour is lightly roasted, fine chocolate, light berries and biscuits. Quite dry with a cocoa-like finish. Feels a bit metallic at the end.

Cask at Charlie’s Bar, Copenhagen. A brown beer with a thin tan head. The aroma is sweet malty with notes of caramel, toffee, and cinnamon. The flavor is sweet malty with strong notes of bisquits and citrus, leading to a dry bitter finish.
