cask @ the White Hart, Stow-on-the-Wold, England. amber pour, notes of dried fruit, sweet malts, very sweet, medium mouthfeel. @ 5% one the higher ABV we encountered in cask.

Not bad, but nothing special. Bitter and dry, but a tad thin and fairly bland. Little hops and malt.

Clear dark copper. Very bitter but not in an interesting way. Very faint malt and tastes filtered. Pretty dull.

Bottled, 500ml, pasteurised, from Queensway Co-Op, Bnbury. Copper colour with the faintest of white heads. Largely flatish with little impact and quite thin, some roasted malt notes and a little bitterness, but very bland. Disappointing,

Bottle, 500ml. Copper colour with a small head. A floral aroma with some light fruit. Aroma is muted with pasteurised notes - rather like a Greene King brew. Taste is fairly malty with cocoa notes and floral hops with caramel. A fair amount of bitterness in the finish. Not actually too bad, but not particularly unique.

this is a very strong tasting ale with an aftertaste that went up the back of my nose.

Bottle conditioned. Slightly cloudy chestnut colour with a beige head, despite careful pouring; strong malty aroma; smooth and malty with a slight bitterness to finish. Rather one-dimensional.

Golden brown and comes in a clear bottle. No carbonation and slightly malty.Smooth and non threatening. The bottle says that it is a strong special ale. It is neither.
