| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 5/5 | 4/10 | 1/5 | 12/20 | Dec 21, 2008 Could not be more disappointed! Pours a beautiful deep red with a foamy head. Aroma is well balanced between malts and hops, with a little spicyness and a tad bit of alcohol. That is where my praise ends. This beer just feels weird in my mouth - there is no other description. There is a grassy flavor that leaves an incredibly dry, bitter finish. I could not get past the strange palate. fonefan (11003), VestJylland, Denmark

| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Dec 19, 2008 Bottle. Hazy deep brownish orange color. Big foamy head. Big woody toasted malts kick you in the teeth with the first sip, rolls into a mild caramelized sweetness and finishes with a blast of fresh piney hops. Medium to full bodied. This is a BIG beer, not for the weak of heart. nickd717 (1327), Palo Alto, California, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Dec 19, 2008 Solid stuff. Malty with oak and great citrusy hops. Bitterness sticks with you. Great at the beginning of the huge bottle, but a struggle to finish it if you are drinking it by yourself. Medium-full mouthfeel. Awesome write-up on the back label. Stone came to Florida just in time for my birthday and I am celebrating. My wife says its appropriate, but I dont care. Amber brown pour with a nice light tan head. Sweet malt and hops aroma. Caramel malt flavor is excellent, lightly sweet but not too much, and fully hopped, but not excessively. Balance is perfect. Medium heavy brew with full mouthfeel, plenty of alcohol but not so much that its boozy, and its totally covered by the flavors. A splendid choice for my birthday! Delicious. Appearence: Hazy, Reddish-brown with a creamy .5 inch head. Some lacing present.
Flavor: Complex. Sweet carmel malt at first with a fruity citrus hops right behind. Slight bitterness in the finish. Toasted grain aftertaste. Very nice.
Palate: Texture is just right. Good carbonation and solid mouthfeel as one would expect from a beer name Arrogant Bastard.
Overall: I like this beer. Balanced flavors and good texture make me want more of this.
