Commercial Description:
This is an aggressive beer. You probably won’t like it. It is quite doubtful that you have the taste or sophistication to appreciate an ale of this quality and depth.

Poured from a 22oz bottle, to a moderately dark amber color. Smells of malt for the most part with maybe a hint of something else hidden in there at times. Flavor is malt and hop split relatively even. Little carbonation for the long rung and head was ok and dissipated quickly. Little holding the flavor in your mouth all that long. Overall it’s a decent beer that I’ve had before and will probably have again but it’s not that special to me in comparison to others in the style.

Pours a dark brown with a reddish tint. Head is generous and is slow to dissipate. Nice lacing. Aroma is very subtle. Hints of malt and..."plastic." Taste is complex. The taste changes as it passes down the old gullet. First it’s crisp and bubbly with a very light malty flavor then turns very bitter as it goes down....Oh, and it "burps" nice later on.... Very easy drinking and pleasurable!

Hazy, dark amber with a white head. Has an caramel aroma with a hint of haisins and a very small hint of alcohol. Bitter beginning with a very nice hop and malt balance in the flavor with a mellower finish than I expected. Alcohol does not come out as much as I would expect. Thick in the palate. Overall a great beer.

pours a very thick caramel color with great head retention. smells of peanut butter, an assortment of nuts, and also spices. tastes of raisins, grapefruit, weak caramel, an unknown amount of spices, and something else i can’t put my finger on. hints of sweetness at the same time. to me, a very complex beer, and very bitter finish. the initial taste is very pleasurable and will have you satisfied. it’s not for me at any regularity as i prefer a slightly less strong beer. i won’t forget it and will definetly drink one once in a while.

On tap at the Englander. Very dark amber color with a small off white head. The aroma is sweet with caramel and leafy hops. The flavor is the same with a nice balance between the sweet malts and strong hops. I picked up a little bit of a berry flavor to go along with the caramel and leafy bitter finish. A little lighter on the palate than expected, but still a good beer I’ll have again.
