Commercial Description:
This is an aggressive beer. You probably won’t like it. It is quite doubtful that you have the taste or sophistication to appreciate an ale of this quality and depth.

Very piney, earthy hop aroma. Pours dark red with a nice velvetty white head. Mostly a hop dominated brew, it does have some roast and some super sweetness, but most of it is hidden by the bitterness in the hops. I have drank this beer a hundred times, but at this point, I far prefer the Oaked version.

Draught @ Brouwer’s Cafe pours dark amber, very red, medium off-white head, light carbonation, with attractive lacing.   Malty nose, somewhat strong phenols.   Sweet malty goodness up front, strong, with a slight hop twang.   I used to think this beer was overly hopped, but not anymore.   Clean finish, smooth, warming... and big on the palate.   Body and mouthfeel are very enjoyable.   Some actual citrus on the finish, along with a big dose of malts with that underlying hop background.   Tasty!

(Rating #904)

Deep rich ruby-copper with a frothy brown head. Mouthwatering aromas of burnt english toffee and soft fruits. Chunky brown sugar malt married to strong resiny/citrus hop character. Incredibley enjoyable. Well-earned arrogance.

Malts are thick and chalky, but also soft & smooth. Rich, intense hop profile seems to tingle the tongue. Alcohol nip. Huge aroma. Roasted-toasted nuttiness in the finish. Bold. Tasty Beer.

Thick frothy off-white head. Dark amber color. Hoppy citrus aroma. Fairly bitter taste. A comfortable beer to drink if you enjoy the aggressive styles.

Yeah! An excellent, hoppy, floral, earthy, fruity, spicy beer with loads of character and body. Big, soft mouthfeel and very smooth and drinkable. The color of this brew is outstanding. Balanced and good.
