This poured dark amber with nice tan head. Strong hops and malts greet you. Takes over your mouth in a hurry and is easy to drink. Flavor of malts and hops in good balance. Long bitter finish. This is everything a craft beer should be. Yum, yum, yum. Love this one. GG (1672), NorCal, California, USA
| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Aug 4, 2007 Quite another surprise that I haven’t rated this beer for some damn reason. I figured why not get a bottle and get it done tonight? Aroma is huge grapefruit, slightly roasty, nutty and a bit fruity. Appearance is dark copper in color, with a small creamy one-finger thick head. Flavor is big, big hops with enough grapefruity hops to please even the most hardcore hophead and a good dose of raisny/caramel sweetnees to keep it all nicely balanced. While I personally enjoy Ruiniation as my Stone beer of choice, this is a damned tasty beer just the same. Recommended! douglas88 (1670), Salt Lake City, Utah, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Jan 6, 2008 Bomber thanks to Eric. Pours a deep red that borders on purple with a great massive beige head. The nose is mostly malt and hops. The taste is subdued but really good; a smooth malt with strong hop flavors. There is also some fruit and smokey hints. A rich and balanced brew; I really appreciate this one and the oak-aged version. A beer I could drink everyday. | 4.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Aug 6, 2006 Pours to a nice red-brown color. Great, strong cantalope-like aroma. Sweet malt taste upfront with a surprising and pleasant hop finish thats very well balanced. Leaves a nice taste in your mouth. A very pleasant experience every time. I’ve yet to try a beer from Stone that didn’t agree with me. MrManning (1655), London, Ontario, Canada
| 4.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 18/20 | May 19, 2004 Stone, you are my hero! Probably one of the best beers I have ever had, hands down. Body is dark amber, almost a red with about a half inch of foamy white head. Aroma is incredible. It almost made my eyes water. Hoppy to the max with some citrusy notes present as well. Taste is a well balanced hops/citrus/malt mixture that leaves an interesting sweet and sour bitter aftertaste. Mouthfeel is crisp and clean. This stuff hits the nail right on the head. Aggressive indeed!
