Very bitter flavour, but with enough complexity to balance. Very good. TURDFERGUSON (1608), Carrboro, North Carolina, USA

Nose is sharp, hoppy, some caramel, and some hotness. Flavor is pretty similar to the aroma- agressively hopped, some caramel, and a big alcohol presence. In my younger days I really valued the alcohol, but now it’s just a distraction. I’ll always have a special place for AB and Stone in my heart. beastiefan2k (1607), Lawrence (formely NYC), Kansas, USA

Very nice shade of brown with a regular head. If you like something that will kick you in the balls then this is the beer for you. Headbanger (1601), Aurora, Illinois, USA

Aroma of alcohol, plums, malt, caramel, and slight hops. Taste of the same with more hops and sweetness coming through in the taste. This full bodied brew is very smooth and balanced. Nice job. Has a bready, malty aroma that was surprising mild for such a hopped beer. Taste is intense maltiness with an insane hop finish. Prepare for an assault on your taste buds. legion242 (1588), Richardson, Texas, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Dec 13, 2001 Ruby, garnet dark; very little head; great plummy, orange nose.
Dry, not nearly as aggresive as the label advertises, though still would be hard on novices maybe. Gets hoppier as it warms, with lots of burnt malt at the end. jpm30 (1588), East Central, Georgia, USA
| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Jun 9, 2006 From a 22 oz. brown bomber bottle with a hilarious blurb on the back, no bottled/freshness date, sampled just below a cellar temperature in a chalice.
Made a good appearance, poured a cloudy reddish brown with a foamy white head that settled into a thin bubbly lacing, minimal amount of sticking, a medium carbonation.
Had a piney hop, caramelized and grain malty nose with whiffs of alcohol in the background.
A crisp, textured and creamy smooth medium bodied mouth feel, very good drinkability.
Big malty taste, roasted and slightly toasted, caramel, bittersweet chocolate and grainy, balanced by an excellent citric rind and piney hoppiness, the hops bring a soft numbness to the tongue, and a piney, citric and sweet malty finish, just plain delicious tasting.
An excellent strong ale for others to measured against, a must try, balanced and flavorful, an amazing brew.
