Commercial Description:
This is an aggressive beer. You probably won’t like it. It is quite doubtful that you have the taste or sophistication to appreciate an ale of this quality and depth.

Pours a dark amber color w/ a medium sized, semi creamy froth. Decent head retention that reduces to a few spattered islands and a full ring of lace. Aromas of citrus rind hops and caramel malts. Full nectar w/ creamy residual effers. Thid brew is very hoppy w/ a perfectly balanced use of mildly sweet malts. Big citrus rind overtones. Not a complex brew flavor wise but exmpliphying an American Strong Ale style very well. This is thee American Strong Ale, California style. The finish is long and enduring w/ ample citrus rind bittering and a lasting malt sweetness.

Pours a brilliant deep red/garnet color with little, but persistent, head. The aroma is strong as hell, but just fantastic. Hoppy (pine, citrus, perfume) with sweet malt (peaches, apricot, caramel, vanilla). The flavor is almost equally as good, but not quite. A long, warming finish with plenty of bitterness. A great beer indeed.

A very solid strong ale. Pours a dark red amber color with a nice sized head that sticks around for awhile. The aroma is a bit floral with PNW hops and malt. Sweet piney citrus flavors, dark fruits, and lots of fresh hops bitter around my tonge making me curl it up just a little, leaving a raw hop flavor to finish. Well balanced a great beer.

Looks like I’m rating 2000 for the Arrogant Bastard! I’ve had the Oaked version, and loved it, i’m quite anxious to try this one out! Deep amber pour, thick juicy, sticky head. Aroma is thick juicy aromatic hops. Some nice earthy hops mixed in with piney resins, and some citrus. The flavour is also very hoppy, lots of pine, and some citrus in the end. Good malt to balance out the beer. Wicked bitter finish that stick to the back of my throat, what an awesome beer!

22 oz 2004 bomber. Pours a reddish brown color with a thick creamy head. Smells of malts, hops, and has a little pine scent to it. Taste is malty, hoppy, with a slight citrus element to it. Very creamy in taste and it has a nice bite to it. Similar to the Stone 8th anniversary ale without the smoky flavor.

Bottle: Good nose, nutty, carmel. Great clear reddish brown color. A quick bitter hop jab, followed by a big malt uppercut. Rich creamy coffee/molasses with a bitter linguring finish. I love this ale. Just the fact that it's called an ale, you know like " oh yeah heres our regular beer". Hops were more present when cold, but as it warmed up malts really took over. Much praise. Saved this one for 100.

Bottle. Massive pine hops right up front in the nose (shocker!). Huge, rich malts arrive at first sip, raisin, fig, prune, but mostly just the rich, rich malt that mingles perfectly with all those pine needles. Simple and complex at the same time, perfectly crafted without the arrogance overriding the flavor, and undeniably luscious.

Oh this is good! A solid balance of malt and hops that is way more approachable than the label suggests! Subtle hints of citrus and caramel.
