Commercial Description:
This is an aggressive beer. You probably won’t like it. It is quite doubtful that you have the taste or sophistication to appreciate an ale of this quality and depth.

This is a tasty drinkable brew, not as aggressive as it makes itself out to be. Fruit and piney flavors with a good balance between malt and hops.

22oz. Bomber. This one pours a bit "Thick". There was a bit of an off white head. The beer is a bit clear, and a reddish amber color. Extremely malty with a nice hop afterbite. Unique taste. There is a bit of fruitiness in there. It is very potent. This is one my wife will definitely NOT like. I am Worthy!

oily hop aroma with some alcohol. fluffy creamy thick head. dark red color looks black without holding it to the light. superb dark red ale that is strong and ominously redrinkable. hints of oak. firm but not heavy. great year round

If there wasn’t as much that I haven’t tried, I would probably head back to this more often. Think the lable is pointed to people that just don’t like real beer as it isn’t near as aggressive as it alludes to being. Just the hoppy side of a really great balance. Yum.

Nice dark brown. Hint of hops aroma initially. Take the first sip--POW. Hello hops. But lots of dark malt there to keep it from coming completely unglued. Excellent.

Smells of American hops and caramel with a slight milk aroma. Clear red color with a beige head that I wish all ales had. Beautiful lacing. Big tangy and bitter flavor. Somewhat malty with hints of smoke. Finishes a little tart. To me the taste is murky with no dominant feature but not quite balanced either. It has what I would describe as a "homebrew" flavor. Good but over rated. Their reverse marketing get a more fanatical following than direct.

Bottled. Rather complex and enjoyable overall. Maybe some dusty, coffee tones. I agree with other raters that this beer grows on you because at first I was not sure what to expect.

GABF 2004. It took nearly 700 ratings, but finally - my first Stone brew! Amber-orange in color with a small, off-white head. Clear body. Hoppy, resin aroma, intermixed with some tangerines and a touch of alcohol. Bitterness is definitely agressive, yet not overly so, accompanied by a sweet caramel malt backbone that holds it all together. Full bodied, sticky and oily, with soft carbonation.
