Aroma of caramel, malt, toffee and citrus hops. Rich malty biscuit and toffee flavour, quite sweet with a solid bitter finish - not much hop flavour though. | 4.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 5/5 | 9/10 | 5/5 | 17/20 | Apr 10, 2004 Stone is rapidly becoming my favorite brewer. Their irreverant sense of humor, gorgeous embossed bombers, and ass kicking beers add up to a marvelous brewing company. Pours with a great deep brown color, great head, and great lacing. Smells like heavy malt, caramel, cognac, toffee, and slight hops. Tastes extremely malty, with the aforementioned aromas as flavors. This beer is dense and slightly thick on the palate (which is good). Finishes smooth, malty, and hoppy, with a final burst of sweetish malt, slight hops, and fine cognac/scotch. As the label says, "You are not worthy". I liked this one so much that I just ordered a few T-shirts. Stone kicks ass!! Lubiere (4551), Ottawa, Ontario, Canada
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | May 18, 2007 a hazy reddish ale with a thick light moka head. A pleasant vinous aroma, with carmale notes, and funky floral hops, and light coffee notes. In mouth, a sweet caramel malt, torrefied coffee, nuts and floral hops, citrusy. A good classy ale. Bought at Bessette’s, Canton, NY. Tasted Feb. 2007 and many times before. Ernest (4503), Boulder, Colorado, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 13/20 | Jun 13, 2002 Updated: Sep 1, 2003Head is initially small, frothy, off-white, mostly diminishing. Body is clear dark amber. Aroma is heavily hoppy (grapefruit, resin), moderately malty (caramel), with notes of apricot and alcohol. Flavor is moderately sweet, moderately acidic, moderately bitter. Finish is lightly sweet, moderately acidic, heavily bitter. Medium to full body, velvety texture, lively carbonation, lightly astringent, lightly alcoholic. Too much grapefruit juice for me, but I can see why hopheads like it. muzzlehatch (4427), Burlington, Vermont, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Nov 18, 2002 Dark brown, clear, medium-to-large semi-lasting head. Looks like a typical brown ale. Nose hoppy, floral, grapefruity, with a hint of figs and spices. Flavor is excellent, really over the top on both the hops and the malt. If I hadn’t had a 3Fs Dreadnaught a couple of months ago, I would probably think this was "the shit" in the Am Strong category; as it is, it does most things right, though there is a weird heavy molasses-like quality to the body in the middle that I’m not crazy about. Caramel, grapefruit, vanilla, toffee all manifest briefly in the flavor before being completely overrun by the end hoppiness. Very good. Great, I dunno. motelpogo (4399), Plzen, Czech Republic

| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 5/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Apr 18, 2007 Aroma of pine backed by malt. Ruby color with a extremely frothy off-white head that laces. Starts with balanced pine hop and malt. Medium mouthfeel. Really pleasant. Light carbonation. The finish is well balanced, but the hop now seems to have gone floral. Good! heemer77 (4311), Savannah, Missouri, USA

Poured a very dark orange and brown with a tan head. Has a subtle orange peel and bread aroma. The taste is strong orange peel hops with a nice malty balance. Sweet and bitter finish. Lots of lacing. My first beer from Stone and I am impressed.
