The heady aroma of hops is the first sign that they have done something right. A malty backbone for some ballance and a nice finish with some lingering bitterness to make you thirsty for more. Head retention is great and laces the glass nicely all the way down. Smell is rich and inviting. Heavily roasted and malty aromatics fill my nose. Flavor opens up bitter and spicy, and then the rich and roasted character appears again with a nice layering of hop flavor and finishes with a malty sweetness. This beer is so unique, the flavor profile is really unlike any other beer I have ever tried. Mouthfeel is medium to full and leaves a slight sticky coating on the throat, warming as it goes down. Arrogant Bastard is incredibly tasty, drinkable and in my opinion a nice session beer... cause frankly you can’t drink much else after the havok this wreaks on your pallate. This beer pours a very dark amber color with ruby highlights. Monstrous head with really good head retention as well. This is one burley bastard that will kick your palate in the sack... I love it! The flavor is quite complex bringing everything from dark fruits to wood, heck I can even taste coffee in this bastard. This is one of those beers where everyone can taste something a little different. hammenlind (738), Sundbyberg, Sweden

Malty and hoppy aroma with a little buttery and fruity touch. Flowery, bitter, extreme hoppy flavour with small hints of pineneedles. Dry finish. Full bodied. Long aftertaste. This is great stuff. | 4.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 5/5 | 9/10 | 5/5 | 18/20 | Mar 4, 2006 This beer introduces itself with an aroma that explodes with hops. Caramel can be detected as a fragrance lingering in the background. This beer finds itself some where on the color chart between dark orange and mahogany. It produces a thick tan colored head that dissipates leaving a impressive amount of lacing on the side of the glass. This moderately thick beer tingles the tongue as it enters the mouth. The taste of hops wallop the tongue and leave a nice bitter edge on the tongue and in the throat as they await another mouthful of this liquid sensation. MikeT (76), Hollis, New Hampshire, USA

Rich crimson color that poured a beutiful thick tan cloudy head that looked like it was put on top by a whipped cream can. The aroma was a perfect blend of malt snd hops, flowers and fruits.
The taste was everything and more that the aroma hinted it would be. A long thick tongue tingling of malt, fruits and hops that took forever before ending with just the right amount of bitteness. This beer made you say "WOW " with every sip, please let this linger for awhile. Yet it beckons you to quickly pick me up and have another.
This beer isn’t arrogant it pure genius!

Pours a rich, dark red with a medium-thick light tan head. Plenty of tiny bubbles. Aroma is dark, foreboding... First taste... mmmm. Initial malt presence and a hint of roasted sweetness that soon gives way to the hops and a bitterness on the sides of the tongue. A bit of grapefruit. Very nice malt presence. Occasional taste of cherry? Aftertaste a bit resiny, malt lingers, but bitter to the end.
