Commercial Description:
This is an aggressive beer. You probably won’t like it. It is quite doubtful that you have the taste or sophistication to appreciate an ale of this quality and depth.

22 oz 2004 bomber. Pours a reddish brown color with a thick creamy head. Smells of malts, hops, and has a little pine scent to it. Taste is malty, hoppy, with a slight citrus element to it. Very creamy in taste and it has a nice bite to it. Similar to the Stone 8th anniversary ale without the smoky flavor.

I tried this beer about four years ago, very early into my craft beer education. At the time I thought wheat beers were odd, so when I saw this one on the menu at a Mellow Mushroom in Chattanooga I wanted to try it just based on the name and idea. I hated it. Since then I have developed a taste for malt and hops that I didn’t have before. I tried this again last night and loved it. It had a great feel to it. The balanced malt and hop character. The aroma of bread and some cherry....wow. I can’t imagine what the ABA on oak is like....

Sweet with hops and malt. I thought the taste would be confusing but all of the flavors have the same weighting. Great beer.

Huge hop aroma when the cap is popped. Pours a translucent orange/red with fluffy white foam. First sip is full of hops and citrus, then the bitter hop bite grabs your cheeks and makes you pucker. Finish is full of hops, slight alcohol, and a little sweet. A true classic.

Aggressive is definitely accurate for this beer. It's all kinds of strongly hoppy. Once the hoppiness washes away, smoky tones are very apparent in this beer.

A rush of intense flavor. Definitly tasted the grapefruit hints in this. A very enjoyable beer that is certainly made for real beer drinkers.

Pours dark brown, thick, light head. Aroma of hops and passion fruit. Strong passion fruit and cascade hop flavor with an undercurrent of malt. Spectacular!

Someone got me an Arrogant Bastard Ale shirt, so I had to try the beer. I had it mailed to me in Kansas (shhh!), and had a six pack with my father-in-law. I was very pleasantly surprised with how flavorful this was. Very good!
