Commercial Description:
This is an aggressive beer. You probably won’t like it. It is quite doubtful that you have the taste or sophistication to appreciate an ale of this quality and depth.

Just had one of these on tap and let me say man was it good. Stone knows how to brew beer and this is just another perfect example of that

Deep red pour, with a big beige head that laces all the way to the end. Aroma fills the room with citrus and hops, much like the IPA and Ruination do, but a little stronger. Light caramel is present initally, followed by a hops onslaught that never seems to let up. Truly a fantastic brew.

Draft: Somewhere between caramel and ruby in color with an amazing beige colored head. If you bake (or watch the Food Network) think stiff peaks. Scent of grain and flavor of malt with a lingering hop finish. Stone Brewing may be right, we may not be worthy!

Nice dark ruby red colour..great tan head. Some malt tatse, though it is overwhelmed by the hoppiness..though some good chocolaty, coffee flavours show through..good beer

Tasted on 03-22-2003. I definately like the 22oz. bottle. Wow, Nice thick tan head and good lace all the way down. Deep reddish brown color. Very unique fruity odor, like maybe peaches and pears. The flavor, although difficult for me to describe, is similar to the nose. Well balanced malt and hops galore. Great mouthfeel. I cant wait to try the double. This is like a party in a bottle, yet still, I deserve better ; ]

It’s a prime example of an American Brown ale. Malty, complex, hoppy, this beer has it all. Pours out a dark copper color, my guess is ~12 - 15 Lovibond. Plenty of head on this brute, with malty aromas up front, and a hop backbone that’ll crush any competition. Excellent balance of hops & malts here.Long lasting lace that made it to the bottom of the glass. No small feat there. Caramel aroma, with a touch of fruitness, but finishes very dry. Not sweet at all, in my opinion. Nice finish as it’s swallowed. If you’re worthy, buy yourself as much as you can, while you can.

This is an aggressive beer. Heavily (and heavenly) hopped. Smells great. The high alcohol, and sweetness cuts the bitterness. The overall taste lingers in your mouth. Too bad the bottle isn't bigger.
