Great strong ale, almost tastes like a barley wine to me. Very generously hopped and nice tart sweet counterpoint. On tap at Gingerman and Hop Devil and my new favorite Collins in NYC.

Big in every way. hops and malt are equally prominant, difficult to describe the taste, but I love it. worth the money

Awesome beer. Stone really has thier marketing campaign down. I did a "Stone" tasting last night and tried the arrogant, double, IPA, Ruination, Imperial, and Gaurdian all in a flight. Darn good tasting, Stone has its act together. Stone is notorious for hopping up thier beers. the bastard is no exception. poured into a tall tulip. pours a dark clear amber with frothy full head, aroma of complex hops, taste is bitter on the front with a woody aftertaste. gets better as you drink it, at first it is afront, but after the hoppiness gets on your palate you notice the complexities, laces well on the glass... definitly one of my favorite beers...

On Tap at The Office in Montclair, NJ. My usual there for the last few months along with Harpoon IPA and Dogfish Head 90 Minute IPA.

Bottle - Nice pour, good head with a lasting head. Great taste from start to finsh. Good beer with a cool gargoyle.

"I am not worthy" to have this as my 100th beer but that doesn’t mean I can’t enjoy it! Deep mahogany color with nice lacing right of the bat. Taste is a mix of sweet/malt and hops which goes full blown hops in the aftertaste. Great beer.

Very nice. Dark, malty, with great complexity and a super hop bite, all in perfect balance. This is a really great beer.

The Brewer is definitely correct when they state this beer is not for beginners! The beer has excellent aroma, appearance and overall complexity of flavor. The hop flavor remains long after the sip is gone and its bold flavor stands up strong against foods and on its own. Well brewed and a beer for real beer drinkers.
