AskForJenny (466), Ontario, New York, USA Jul 26, 2006 Nice looking reddish brown color, with a long lasting head. Tons of malt and starch and a bitter, bitter blast of hops. I’m sure this beer will have its hopheadded devotees, but I am not one of them. If you like IPAs you’ll love this thing.
hirigalzkar (86), Stockholm, Sweden Nov 19, 2008 Bottle. Dark bown/orange. Smells vinegar and raisin. Big taste! Caramel hops dominates. Bitter aftertaste. Complex beer in all ways. Has a thick feel to it. brewski519 (7), Morrisville, North Carolina, USA does not count Nov 2, 2008 Had this for this first time out of 22oz bottle in Williamsburg VA and just recently found it on tap at Tyler’s Taproom in Durham NC.
Looks like a nice, dark brown body with a medium brown color near the edges of the glass. A 1/2’ creme colored head stuck around for a while, and faded slowly. The smell is of toasted malts and hops. The taste is fantastic. Its malty up front and then it hits you afterwards with the flavorful hops. Overall, a great beer.
CheersMate1 (301), Atlanta, Georgia, USA Nov 1, 2008 Ah, numero CCC! What a great accomplishment, not! I still have a lot more drinking to do. I didn’t save this one for 300, it just happened to be in the fridge. The beer has a nice, almost opaque appearance. It has a deep caramel.brown with a nice head that sticks around. This beer looks damn good! The beer has a strong hop smell. Fairly pungent beer. In Atlanta, we have been awaiting Stone’s arrival, and so far some of their beers have met the expectations, and others have not. Slight malt aroma, but mainly this thing is giving off a lovely hope stink! Not the greatest smell, but pretty good. The beer has a nice creamy texture. Very nice palate! Nice flavoring, bittering, and aroma hop. The bitter touches the taste buds in the back of my tongue. The malts are not noticeable due to the bitter taste. I really like this beer a lot. I thought the Oaked Arrogant Bastard was not as good as this one, and that was surprising. I just love the bitter aspect of this beer. Very bitter, creamy, and aromatic. Pretty damn good brew. alaskanwarren (281), Edgewater, Colorado, USA Nov 1, 2008 I remember distinctly the first time I tried this beer. It was circa 2003 in Haines, Alaska. I hadn’t ever really had anything this crazy before. The copy on the bottle is hilarious, with the cap telling me I’m not worthy. Am I? Whew, I hope so. Flavor is mighty, lots of hops, citrus, dates, fresh fruit. Finish isn’t too cloying, if you’re determined, you can make it through a bomber in an evening. Just don’t plan on driving. plovmand (760), Helsinge, Denmark Oct 29, 2008 Bottle. Thanks Skinnyviking. Reddish brown colour with a long lasting white head. Fruity, malty and pretty hoppy aroma. Flavour is spicy, fruity with lots of sweet malt and caramel. A hint of alcohol is present. Soft mouthfeel. I love the arrogance from the label.
