If you like that style this is definitely a solid choice. The Arrogant Bastard Ale (incredible name--reason why I bought it) is simply put...arrogant. Strong, hoppy, out of control with hoppiness, it is like an IPA. Not my cup of tea (or beer I guess) but it will grow on you and is a good brew.

SImply the best thing I’ve had from Stone. It’s like an IPA on steroids. I highly recommend it for anyone who likes this style of beer.

| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Dec 6, 2009 Slightly reddish brown color in the glass. Aromas smell faintly of citrus fruit. This is a pretty hoppy beer on the palate, I agree with the bottle description of "aggressive hops". Definitely a well-made brew though. taphandle (6), Texas, USA does not count | 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 13/20 | Dec 5, 2009 Enough malt flavor to carry the bitterness. Held head throughout glass. Carbonation was fizzy and the hops flavor and bitterness had a long finish. Bricks (32), USA

Aroma of alcohol, plums, malt, caramel, and slight hops. Taste of the same with more hops and sweetness coming through in the taste. This full bodied brew is very smooth and balanced. Nice job. | 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 5/5 | 8/10 | 5/5 | 15/20 | Nov 24, 2009 On draught at Plan B (Simsbury, CT): Pours reddish brown into a chalice. Head recedes into a halo with brilliant lacing. Nose is of malts, creamy/thickness, hops, and citrusy. Tastes of rich caramel, vanilla, ripe plum, toast, and sweet malts. Full-bodied yet smooth all around. Alcohol is hidden extremely well amist it’s multidimensional characteristics. Drinkability: Pleasurable. Rebuy: Definitely. #217 on 24112009, DG.

| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Nov 23, 2009 A red beer with a nice frothy head. The aroma is very nice fruity & hoppy. The taste is very fruity with berries coming out the most with a nice bitterness being smoothed out in the end. If you call yourself a man & drink nothing but light beers then I challenge you to man up & drink a glass of Viking beer, Arrogant Bastard Ale.
